Who’s Coming

Keith D. Robinson (Ted Richardson): It was announced in March that Robinson was taking over the role of Ted from original portrayer Maurice Johnson, but in response to a fan inquiry on Instagram, Robinson revealed when fans can expect to see him make his on-screen on the show: Thursday, May 15.

Michael Dietz (Dr. Jeffrey Russell): Look for the sought-after doc to interact with EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) this week.

Kennedy Garcia (Felicity Greene): Chad (Billy Flynn) and Cat (AnnaLynne McCord) are on hand to comfort Felicity when something unexpected happens.

James Reynolds (Abe Carver): It’s been a while since Paulina’s (Jackée Harry) husband has been seen in Salem. He will be on hand to help advise his stepdaughter, Chanel (Raven Bowens).

Asher Antonyzyn (Danny Morgan): The drama down by the lake continues this week as Danny tries to help Rocco (Finn Carr) during a medical emergency.

Finn Carr (Rocco Falconeri): Expect to see more of the young actor this week as Rocco issues an apology.

Dioni Michelle Collins (Deanna Sirtis): The nurse tends to a patient — Drew (Cameron Mathison) — this week.

Bryce Durfee (Vaughn): Josslyn’s (Eden McCoy) WSB handler will be on again this week as he and Joss get briefed by Brennan (Chris McKenna).

Jonathan Ohye (Dr. Andy Park): This physician is called to duty when Rocco requires medical attention.

Parry Shen (Brad Cooper): The lab tech will be back this week; expect him to make a life-changing decision before the week’s end.

John J. York (Mac Scorpio): York notches more air time as Mac investigates a crime.

Lauralee Bell (Christine Blair Williams) and Michael Damian (Danny Romalotti): Bell shared an image to her socials that showed that both she and Damian are back shooting more episodes — and reuniting with Michael Graziadei (Daniel), Damian’s on-screen son. Bell cheered, “Happy to be back for guaranteed good days ahead with these two! #staytuned #yr @therealmichaeldamian @goodgriefcharliebrown.” The twosome last appeared in Genoa City together in January.

Cait Fairbanks (Tessa Porter): As the mystery grows surrounding the secret Mariah (Camryn Grimes) is harboring, expect to see more of her wife, Tessa.

Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe Mitchell Baldwin): Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) is in need of her favorite sounding board, and she and longtime pal Chloe will meet up at Society for a drink and a chat.

Bold and Beautiful

Lauralee Bell (Christine Blair Williams): Now that the fashion show is over, the actress has wrapped up her run on Y&R’s sister show.

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt (Themselves): The married reality TV icons and TikTok stars have also wrapped up their guest stints now that the Forrester Creations fashion show has come to an end.

Markell Washington (Himself): Social media influencer Washington also saw his fashion show-related appearance conclude last week.

Paige Herschell (Jacinda): Now that the blonde bombshell that Nina (Cynthia Watros) and Portia (Brook Kerr) enlisted to blow up Drew’s (Cameron Mathison) public image has completed her mission, Herschell’s short-term run on the show has come to an end.

Allison Lanier (Summer Newman): The actress dropped a bombshell on her fans last week when she announced on that Friday, May 2 would be her final episode in the role of Summer. “I’ve loved the journey and learned so much but it’s time to grow in a different direction,” she explained. Lanier debuted as the daughter of Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) on May 17, 2022, succeeding Daytime Emmy winner Hunter King in the role. Setside sources have told Digest that the show does not intend to recast the role at this juncture. On Lanier’s last show, Summer headed off to Europe to tend to urgent Marchetti matters.

 

Casting About

After just airing for the first time last week, Deadline reports that Alice Halsey (Rachel, DAYS) has snagged the plum role of Laura Ingalls in the Netflix reboot of Little House on the Prairie. Melissa Gilbert played the role in the 1974 series that was based on Laura Ingalls Wilder’s semi-autobiographical novels…. That was Christian Weissmann (Remy, B&B) who was wheeled in on a gurney in a neck brace on last week’s Grey’s Anatomy.

 

Industry News

Getting Desperate: Actress Kerry Washington (Scandal) is spearheading a reboot of Desperate Housewives for Hulu through her production company, Simpson Street, reports Deadline. The new version of the show is titled Wisteria Lane, which is the name of the street the former housewives lived on. The OG series’s creator, Marc Cherry, isn’t currently attached to the reimagining of the show, but the site said he was aware of the project and could become involved with it at a later time in some way. There are no current plans for any of the original cast — most significantly, Marcia Cross (ex-Bree), Felicity Huffman (ex-Lynette), Eva Longoria (ex-Gabby), Nicolette Sheridan (ex-Edie) and Teri Hatcher (ex-Susan) — to be a part of the reboot.

Travel Bug: Alison Sweeney (Sami Brady, DAYS) revealed that she has a new movie franchise that also stars Ashley Williams (ex-Dani Andropoulos, As the World Turns). “Ashley & I are so excited to announce the projects we’ve been hinting at all year: To Barcelona, With Love & To Barcelona, Forever are movies all about fun, romance & friendship – and of course gorgeous Barcelona!” Sweeney announced on X (formerly Twitter). “They will kick off @hallmarkchannel‘s annual Passport to Love on Saturday, June 7, and Saturday, June 14 (8 p.m. ET/PT). I’m so grateful to have been able to work with Ashley Williams, Ron Oliver, Julie Sherman Wolfe & Craig Baumgarten on this adventure! #blessed #grateful #setlife #travel”

By The Book: Susan Lucci (ex-Erica Kane, All My Children) announced she has written a new book, La Lucci. “I’ve been working on this book for more than a year-and am extremely delighted to present it to you. I am really excited for you to read it,” the Daytime Emmy-winning actress shared on Facebook. La Lucci is now available to pre-order by clicking here. Lucci published her first memoir, All My Life, in 2011, the same year AMC went off the air after a nearly 41-year run.

Harris Yulin (ex-Michael Christopher, As the World Turns) has joined the cast of MGM+’s American Classic, a comedy starring Kevin Kline (ex-Woody Reed, Search For Tomorrow)…. Katrina Bowden (ex-Flo Fulton, B&B) appears in a new Western, The Unholy Trinity, coming out in theaters on June 13. It stars Samuel L. Jackson and Pierce Brosnan….  Knots Landing alum Donna Mills (ex-Abby; ex-Madeline, GH) announced she is joining fellow KL stars Joan van Ark (ex-Valene; ex-Gloria, Y&R) and Michele Lee (ex-Karen) for a new podcast series called We’re Knot Done Yet…. Also coming out with a new podcast is Molly Burnett (ex-Melanie Jonas, DAYS). On May 6, she will launch the BookTok-inspired A Novel Bunch Podcast, teaming up with Alyssa Tabit Smith, wife of Freddie Smith (ex-Sonny, DAYS).

 

Real-Life Status

Health Update: Susan Sullivan (ex-Lenore Moore Curtin Delaney, Another World; ex-Maggie Gioberti Channing, Falcon Crest) has had some health battles but she gave an update on April 30. She wrote on her official X (formerly Twitter) account, “Sharing some good news. The comfort you have provided me has helped me heal and my lymphoma is under complete control. Thank you!”

Health Update, Part Two: Risa Dorken (Amy Driscoll, GH) shared her own medical news on her X (formerly Twitter) account Friday when she wrote, “Grateful✨ Had a successful ERCP this morning for my stent removal. It *should* be my final procedure on this GI journey!🥳”

 

In Memoriam

Priscilla Pointer, who portrayed Pamela Barnes Ewing’s (Victoria Principal) mother, Rebecca Barnes Wentworth, on Dallas from 1981-83, passed away at the age of 100 on April 28. She also appeared as Beatrice Handleman on Knots Landing and was well known for her roles in films like Carrie, Looking for Mr. Goodbar, Mommie Dearest and Nightmare on Elm Street: Dream Warriors as well as countless television appearances. She is survived by her children Katie, director David and actress Amy Irving as well as three grandchildren. She outlived both of her husbands, Jules Irving and Robert Symonds.

Ruth Buzzi, who played Nurse Kravitz on Passions and Letitia Bradford on DAYS, passed away on May 1 at the age of 88. Her career spanned films and television, but she was mostly known for her time on Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In, for which she won a Golden Globe Award and received five Emmy nominations. She was a prolific voice-over actor in animated projects, and she also appeared on Broadway in Sweet Charity. Ruth Ann Buzzi was born in Westerly, RI in 1936 and raised in Wequetequock, CT. At 17, she enrolled at the Pasadena Playhouse for the Performing Arts, alongside others like Dustin Hoffman and Gene Hackman. “Ruthie left us while peacefully sleeping yesterday evening at home. She’d been in hospice care, disabled from a stroke in 2022 following a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s 10 years earlier,” read a statement from her family on Facebook. She leaves behind her second husband, Kent Perkins, whom she married in 1978.
