Bold and Beautiful Alum Darin Brooks’s New Film Set For February 2026 Release

Comments

Fans of Bold and Beautiful haven’t seen Darin Brooks as Wyatt Spencer since January 2024, when he officially ended his 10-year run on the CBS sudser. But that doesn’t mean that the actor hasn’t been keeping busy! In fact, he has a new movie coming out, and Deadline reported exclusively that it will be released in February 2026.

Ice, Ice Baby

The film in question is titled The Roaring Game, and Brooks stars alongside Academy Award nominee Mickey Rourke and four-time Super Bowl champion Rob Gronkowski, a former tight end for the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. A sports comedy, The Roaring Game was written and directed by Tom DeNucci, and its plot centers around a high school janitor, Rickey, played by Brooks, who recruits a team of misfits for a curling team to play in the World Games, in hopes of winning back his hockey-playing love interest. The cast also includes Paul Johansson (ex-Dan, One Tree Hill; ex-Greg, Santa Barbara) and American Pie alum Eddie Kaye Thomas.

“LETS CURL! 💪🥌😎 COMING FEBRUARY 2026!!! Just in time for the Winter Olympics!” enthused Brooks on Instagram. In a separate post, he continued, “Can’t put THAT cat back in the bag!!! Let’s go!!! 🙌🔥💪🎬😎😁🥌 Sooo, yeah! This is the comedy I’ve been filming with all these absolute legends and all stars… called ‘THE ROARING GAME’!!! 🥌 Can’t wait for you all to see it!! LOVE these people to the moon and back! Cast and crew, 1000000%, [were] just INCREDIBLE!! … See you at the Olympics!😁🤣🥌😎🤘🤙”

Brooks got his soap start 20 years ago on Days of Our Lives, where he was tapped to play Max Brady in 2005. He exited in 2009, the same year he took home the Daytime Emmy statuette for Outstanding Younger Actor. In 2013, he made his B&B debut as Wyatt, surprise son of Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) by Quinn Fuller (Rena Sofer), earning a Daytime Emmy nomination in the Outstanding Supporting Actor category in 2021.

In 2023, Brooks acknowledged the shift in his status with the show from contract to recurring after months of limited screen time. On Instagram, he posted, “Until we meet again… So, many of you have seen that I am no longer in the credits on @boldandbeautifulcbs and after 10 amazing years, it’s time for me to say ‘Until we meet again…’ to Wyatt Spencer. (Doesn’t mean it’s the end, just… bye for now…) Honestly, I have to thank the big man, Brad Bell [executive producer/head writer], for having me, you seriously changed my life man! Love and appreciate you, always! The experiences, the trips, the memories, the friendships… All will forever hold a special place in my heart!! To the Spencer men, Scott [Clifton, Liam] and Don [Diamont], you’re like family to me in real life so I’ll see ya soon (off set) Haha. To all the cast and crew, too many people to mention but just know… I LOVE YOU ALL and thank you for everything!!! A HUGE Thank you to @cbstv for letting me be a part of your daytime family!! And to the many, MANY fans around the world watching the show… THANK YOU!! For always watching and enjoying what I LOVE TO DO!! You all touched my heart just by tuning in everyday and being a part of our Bold and Beautiful family!! Time to see what’s around the bend…”

In his final appearance on the show early the next year, Wyatt handed the keys of his beach house over to RJ after deciding that it was time to spread his wings.

The Roaring Game is not Brooks’s first foray into the world of sports-themed comedy. From 2010-11, he starred on Spike TV’s Blue Mountain State as Alex Moran, who at the start of the series was the second-string quarterback for the fictional Blue Mountain State college football team. The show had a follow-up film, Blue Mountain State: The Rise of Thadland, which was released in 2016, and a sequel series is in the works at Amazon, Deadline reported earlier this year.
