Beyond The Gates Star Karla Mosley Visits The Locher Room
Tune in to The Locher Room on Wednesday, April 2, at 7:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m. PT for a special episode as host Alan Locher welcomes Karla Mosley, whose character of Dani is one of the pivotal players on the newest soap on the daytime block, Beyond The Gates.
A Look Back
Mosley first appeared on the daytime scene when she was cast as Christina Moore on Guiding Light in 2008. She stayed until the show was canceled in 2009. While on GL, she worked alongside Lawrence Saint-Victor (ex-Remy). Both actors would later reunite when she was cast in 2013 as Maya Avant on Bold and Beautiful opposite his Carter Walton, a role he continues to play to this day. On B&B, Mosley made history by portraying daytime TV’s first transgender main character in a love story with Rick Forrester, played by Jacob Young. The actress officially left the CBS soap in 2019. In 2021, Mosley filled in briefly for Mishael Morgan as Amanda Sinclair on B&B’s sister soap, Young and Restless.
Now, she’s captivating audiences once again as Dani Dupree in CBS’s groundbreaking new daytime drama, Beyond the Gates. Dani has had her heart shattered by her longtime husband, Bill, who dumped her to marry Hayley, their daughter Naomi’s best friend. Dani was left to pick up the pieces of her life after she ended her high-profile modeling career years ago to be a wife to a serial cheater. Her daughters are grown with lives of their own, and Dani can’t really let go of the anger or the love she feels towards Bill. Her family is there through it all, but she’s acting out in messy — and delicious — ways.
In this conversation, they will dive into her experience bringing Dani to life as well as working alongside the legendary Tamara Tunie (Anita Dupree; ex-Jessica Griffin, As the World Turns) and Clifton Davis (Vernon Dupree) as her on-screen parents. They will also discuss what this history-making new show means for daytime television.
