6:00 a.m. I usually try to get up around 6-ish to feed the dogs and make breakfast and have my coffee. I think like all of us on a soap, what we eat depends on if we’re shirtless or not that day! Usually, I like to have a least three eggs, though, either way, just to keep me and my brain going, and my coffee.

7:00 a.m. I’m out the door and usually on my drive into work listening to Ryan Seacrest or Howard Stern. He’s got the best interviews.

8:00 a.m. The work begins on making this “average” mug look bold and beautiful. (Some days it’s harder than others.) What? You think this is natural bold and beauty? I wish! Usually if I were first up, we get an 8 a.m. call to come in to do hair and makeup and also find our partners in the scenes to run lines. Our rule is to try to at least read every scene out loud three times so that we can get the gist of everything and talk about our scenes and if we need to chat something out.

Me all ready to get to set! You should’ve seen how I came in before hair and makeup!

9:00 a.m. Blocking, blocking, blocking! This is the time where everyone is usually called out to set, by order of the shooting schedule, and we meet with the directors, crew and other actors to get our blocking, or our stage direction, for the scenes, and we usually talk about any questions or concerns about the scenes coming up as well. And hopefully, we get to squeeze in a little more rehearsal time to run lines. Because it’s hard doing one take on every scene we do sometimes, especially if it’s a six-page scene where people are crying or possibly dying or breaking up!

9:30 a.m. Sometimes I have to escape for a last-minute wardrobe fitting/check to make sure all my stuff looks bold and beautiful, as well.

Last-minute checks in my dressing room before heading out.

10:00 a.m. It’s taping time! Generally, if you’re first up, you’re right up at 10 a.m. and if you’re not, well, then we get a little more time to run lines and meet with scene partners.

Aaron [D. Spears, Justin] and I being badasses on set. I think we got yelled at for taking selfies right after.

11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Since we don’t have a formal break for lunch due to our heavy shooting schedule, usually, we try to find a little time in between scenes or during a five-minute break — which we have usually every hour on the hour — so that the crew and I can get a snack or some lunch or something at our lovely commissary. Or since we are so blessed to shoot at the amazing Television City across from The Grove, sometimes we get enough time to run over to Veggie Grill or Chipotle. Yeah, man!

4:00 p.m. Normal end-of-day schedule. Out and on my drive back home to check in with the wife. (Note: Sometimes, like on days where we have a huge wedding with all the cast or when a building is falling down on someone, we’re here much later than 4 p.m. Just depending on how much we have to shoot that day or how intense of a storyline we have going on. So we’re kind of at the beck and call for the art and have to plan our days around that, for sure!)

5:00 p.m. If I can fit in a workout, I will try to swing by the gym after work or get in a good workout with my trainer on my way home.

Getting my workout on. I gotta keep up with all these damn shirtless scenes lately.

6:00 p.m. My wife and I love to cook at home just because it’s healthier and better for us. Sometimes she’ll cook and I’ll do the dishes and vice versa. Again, the pups have to eat as well.

7:00 p.m. Okay, so if were done with everything by now, sometimes I admit that we’ll watch JEOPARDY and WHEEL OF FORTUNE, because who doesn’t love Alex, Pat and Vanna!?

8:00 p.m.- 10:00 p.m. We usually watch our favorite shows and get our daily fixes. Because you know, you have to see what’s going to happen next now that Offred didn’t leave when she had the chance on THE HANDMAID’S TALE? Or what’s gonna happen now that the White Walkers have made it through the wall on GAME OF THRONES?! We just have to know these things!

10:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. Take the dogs out for their final “business” and make sure my pearly whites stay pearly and white. Then I usually head off to bed and watch some of the news to see what’s going on in the world and then finally some FRIENDS to fall asleep to. Not only ending the day with some of the best writing, acting and comedy in the history of television, but ending the day with laughter. Starting it all again tomorrow.
