Television’s biggest stars turned out for the Soap Opera Digest Awards on February 14 at the Beverly Hills Hilton in Los Angeles. Hosted by FRASIER star Jane Leeves (Daphne), Shawn Christian (Mike, AS THE WORLD TURNS), Drake Hogestyn (John, DAYS OF OUR LIVES) and Keith Hamilton Cobb (Noah, ALL MY CHILDREN), the show aired live on NBC. More than 60,000 Digest readers voted.
Yet again, DAYS ruled the Favorite Show category and took three others, including Hottest Male Star (Peter Reckell, Bo) and Outstanding Villainess (Alison Sweeney, Sami). ONE LIFE TO LIVE’s Robin Strasser (Dorian) and GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Maurice Benard (Sonny) took home the trophies for Outstanding Lead Actress and Actor.
The 1988 Editor’s Award recepient Susan Lucci (Erica, AMC) presented soap legend Agnes Nixon with the Editor’s Award…Favorite Show: DAYS OF OUR LIVES
