Cincinnati, OH native Adam Gregory got into acting, thanks to his mom, Deborah Sanderson. While Gregory’s father, Steve Salling, encouraged him to play sports, she wanted his extracurricular activities to be more well-rounded. Therefore, she enrolled Gregory and his two brothers in an after-school arts program, where the students were given voice and dance lessons.

Gregory quit after a couple of years and was on the football, wrestling and baseball teams in middle school, but his life changed when a friend encouraged him to try out for the school musical. Gregory landed a role in the production and found a new love for performing. He then fractured the growth plate on his left foot so he quit sports and only did theater. During his senior year of high school, he appeared in two local professional productions and earned money for his work.

After graduating from high school, Gregory attended Northern Kentucky University and majored in theater. While performing in one of the school’s shows, he caught the eye of a talent manager, who helped get him an agent. Gregory took a risk by leaving school in 2007 and moving out to Los Angeles, but the move paid off; four months later, he booked roles on JUST JORDAN and WIZARDS OF WAVERLY PLACE, and did some modeling work through the well-known agency, Ford Models. He was then cast as bad-boy Ty in The CW’s updated version of 90210, and landed parts in Hannah Montana: the Movie and 17 Again.

Meanwhile, in 2008, Gregory met his future wife, Sheridan, at a party for Maxim’s Hot 100. They dated for two years and wed on February 26, 2010.

2010 also turned out to be a great year for him professionally. After testing with Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy, B&B) for a role on B&B (“I can’t say which one,” he explains.), he was offered a contract; he then found out that he wasn’t going to be playing the role he’d read for, but instead was the new Thomas.

Though Gregory was nervous about taking over for Daytime Emmy winner Drew Tyler Bell (“It’s never easy to take over someone else’s job,” he admits.), the actor was immediately thrown into a big storyline as Thomas clashed with Steffy and Stephanie over their cruel treatment of Brooke. “It’s nice being part of a core family,” he says. “Hopefully, I’ll be with the show for the long haul.”
