Jen Lilley (ex-Theresa, DAYS) attended Thirst Project’s 10th Annual Thirst Gala in Los Angeles on September 28. On Instagram, the actress posted, "Every once and a while, you’re lucky enough to be part of something BIG. Something that transcends your sphere of influence and impacts people across the world, people you’ll never meet. When I learned about the world water crisis in 2008, there were 1.1 BILLION people in the world without access to clean drinking water. That was one in six of us. Since that time, the world population has skyrocketed, but the number of people without clean water has been cut in half thanks to organizations like
@thirstproject. How incredible is that!! But y’all, there’s still a long way to go. Unclean drinking water kills more people every year than aids, malaria, and war combined, but the solution is simple: building sustainable wells to provide clean water. This cuts down preventable diseases overnight, and allows children and women who would otherwise spend the entire day looking for water to attend school or work. Something as simple as clean water changes everything.
#ThirstProject is helping push the world water crisis into the past! And you can help! You don’t have to be famous or rich or “grown up” to make an impact. Just $20 can provide one person clean water for 20 years. And what’s more? 100% of your donation goes directly toward building wells because they have an amazing board donating to the other expenses no one else wants to cover, like paper clips and ink and paper. Don’t have money? Volunteer your time or lend your voice to spread awareness. Being a school tour speaker for this organization was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. Thank you
@thirstproject for all that you do. I’m so honored to be part of something so much bigger than myself. I love you, I love you, I love you! Cheers to celebrating 10 years of global impact!
