NIGHT MOVES
Lisa LoCicero (Olivia, GH) and a group of her gal pals all signed up for pole-dancing class together — but LoCicero is the only one who emerged with any skills. “Niecy Nash, who my husband [director Michael Jann] worked with on RENO 911, was the one who convinced me, ‘We should all take pole-dancing lessons!’ ” she reports. “Niecy was like, ‘Girl, we all need to take pole-dancing lessons! I talked to a lady and she was showing me her moves, she was dropping it like it’s hot, she was all into it.’ I was like, ‘All right! I’m going to call the pole-dancing studio tomorrow and sign up for classes and we’re all gonna go, right?’ It was Niecy, me, [RENO 911’s] Kerri Kenney, Ben Garantz’s then-wife and Tom Lennon’s wife, who is one of my best friends. Everyone was like, ‘Yeah, we’re all gonna go!’ And one by one, everyone was like, ‘You know what? I can’t make it.’ ‘You know what? I’m busy. I don’t really feel like pole-dancing.’ Cut to, Lisa’s sitting there in her underwear and her 15-inch heels like, ‘All right, I’m ready for class, hum de dum.’ That’s pretty much classic me. But I do quasi-know how to pole-dance now, so there’s that. I showed them!”

DAYS GONE BY
Drake Hogestyn (John, DAYS) says he still meets fans in the most unlikely places who remember his early days on the show. “Today, I had to call the title company about the non-exclusive easement in front of my house,” explains the actor. “I had to give them the order number and he looked it up and he went, ‘So, how is Roman these days?’ I was stunned for a second, but I get that a lot. His thing was, ‘We used to always come home and watch DAYS OF OUR LIVES with Grandpa in the lunch hour,’ and I said, ‘That was your bonding moment, wasn’t it?’ He goes, ‘Oh, yeah. We talked about it. We loved that show. You were his favorite character. I haven’t been able to watch for a long time.’ And I said, ‘Well, I’m not Roman anymore.’ I get that a lot from so many people. It’s interesting! It’s nice that they’re emotionally attached, not only to the show, but to my past portrayal of a character.”

TIME FLIES
When not toiling as B&B’s busiest ob/gyn, Dr. Phillips, Robin Givens can be seen on the hit teen sudser RIVERDALE as former mayor Sierra McCoy, which has made her realize how much time has passed since she was a teen star on HEAD OF THE CLASS. “One of the most interesting times I’ve had on this set was when we were waiting for the lighting,” Givens recalls. “It was myself and Luke [Perry, Fred; ex-Dylan, BEVERLY HILLS, 90210] and Mari [Nichols, Hermione]. Lighting is a major setup, so we had some time and we were all talking and showing pictures of our kids on our phones. Well, we started looking around and were all like, ‘How did this happen? When did this happen? Remember when we were the kids on the show? We were them!’ It was a very interesting moment [laughs].”

SCREEN GEMS
Yes, Joshua Morrow (Nick, Y&R) is very pleased with his character’s Victor-like behavior. “I’ve been wanting this to happen for years,” enthuses the actor. “You can only tell the story of this super-laid-back guy so many times and then he’s got to evolve. Nick is in his mid-40s, so there’s got to be a switch in him that’s flipped to give him some kind of drive because that’s interesting. He just can’t continue to be essentially a beach bum, so I’m super-happy about it. I like the element of fighting to stay true to himself but dipping his toe into this dark side. I can’t wait to see where the writers will go with this. A lot of fans don’t like this journey Nick is going on, but if they just hang in there, I think it’ll be rewarding.” However, Morrow was just as surprised as viewers were by Nick’s one-night stand with ex-wife Phyllis. “I was amazed, at first, but the way the writers sold it to me made sense, so I was like, ‘Okay, Let’s bring it,’ ” he explains. “What a powerhouse of an actress Gina [Tognoni, Phyllis] is; she brought incredible intensity to those scenes. There are people who are more comfortable with their sexuality than others, and she’s very free and open. She knows how to tell that kind of story and I was impressed with her. Boy, we sure messed up that kitchen!”
