General Hospital’s Kristina Wagner Debuted as Felicia and Other Big Soap Moments from September 7

In 1984, Kristina Wagner made her General Hospital debut as Felicia Cummings. "I was a theater major in Indiana and I sent in my resumé to a talent model consultant and she sent it to Mari Lyn Henry, who was the head of ABC casting at the time," the actress recalled to Soap Opera Digest in 2023. "Mari Lyn called me and I went to Chicago to audition for Marlena Laird, who was one of the directors at the time under Gloria Monty, who was the executive producer. So, I got the part in Chicago and then moved out to L.A. with a trial [contract] for 13 weeks, and then they renewed it, and my life was never the same. It changed drastically, from an Indiana girl to a girl that lives in Los Angeles and was on national television, at that time, every single day. It was very consuming; it became my world and it molded and shaped me into the person I’ve become today.”

In 1994, Sharon Case (upper r., pictured with Eddie Cibrian, ex-Matt, l., Julianne Morris Polaha as Amy and Joshua Morrow as Nick) debuted as Sharon Collins on Young and Restless. Two other actresses, Monica Potter and Heidi Mark, had originally played the role. Case had two soap credits to her name at the time, having appeared on As The World Turns as Debbie and, prior to that, as Dawn on General Hospital. The actress recalled to Soap Opera Digest in 2023, "I came in and did my first audition for [Co-Creator/ Head Writer] Bill Bell and [then-Executive Producer] Ed Scott, and after that, they wanted me to come back for a screen test a few days later. I did my screen test with Joshua Morrow [Nick]. He was young and silly then. I felt really lucky about booking this great role, but working with Joshua Morrow all these years was a huge stroke of luck for me."

In 2006, General Hospital's Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) got confirmation of her pregnancy (with Jake). After her at-home test came up positive, Liz decided to get a proper blood test at the hospital and fibbed to Lucky that she had been called back in to work. En route, she encountered Sam and learned that Sam and Jason had broken up for good, and asked Dr. Lee for a pregnancy test. Kelly told her that she was indeed with child. "Wow," murmured Liz. "I didn't expect this." Kelly tried to reassure her, saying, "Hey, once it sinks in, you and Lucky will be thrilled. Hey, I promise. I see it all the time. This will be Lucky's first child, right?" "I don't know," responded Liz, who wasn't sure if her baby's father was Lucky or Jason. She asked the doc, "How soon can I do a paternity test?" The child, Jake, did turn out to be the biological child of Jason, not Lucky.

In 2007, Passions aired its final episode on NBC. The series, which had debuted in July 1999, resumed broadcasting on DirecTV shortly thereafter, and went off the air for good in 2008. Among the highlights of the show's last hour on its original network, Ethan (Eric Martsolf) regained consciousness in the hospital after being poisoned and declared his love for Theresa (Lindsay Hartley, l.). Gwen (Liza Huber) then entered with a baby boy and claimed that it was her and Ethan's son, bursting Theresa's bubble.

In 2022 on General Hospital, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) officially moved in together, with Dante settling into her penthouse with the help of Cody Bell. As Sam welcomed Dante home, his dad, Sonny Corinthos, stopped by with a unique housewarming gift: a lasagna. After Sonny left, Sam brought out a bottle of champagne to celebrate, and Dante proposed a toast: "To the next chapter."
