In 1984, David Hasselhoff (ex-Snapper Foster, Young and Restless) guest-starred on Santa Barbara in scenes with Rupert Ravens (Danny Andrade) and Melissa Reeves (Jade Perkins). The actor, who at the time was starring on NBC's Knight Rider, played himself in the cameo appearance. Reeves recalled to Soap Opera Digest in 2014, "[Knight Rider] was a big show, but I didn't watch it. It's terrible, because I really didn't know who he was at the time." Her character, however, was an aspiring actress who was starstruck by her encounter with Hasselhofff. "Jade was completely impressed by David Hasslehoff, so I had to make a very big deal over him."

In 1997, Patrick Thornhart (Thorsten Kaye) and Marty Saybrooke (Susan Haskell) wed on One Life To Live. The pair tied the knot atop Llantano Mountain, with Larry Wolek escorting Marty down the makeshift aisle as a violin soloist played. Patrick told Marty, "This mountaintop, with these old oaks rising like pillars to hold up God's own roof, seems more cathedral than man could ever desire."

In 2014, Billy Flynn (l., with James Scott as EJ DiMera) made his Days of Our Lives debut as Chad DiMera. When Flynn first auditioned for the role, he recalled to Soap Opera Digest in 2014, he didn't know that the part was a recast. "For the first half of [the audition process], the character's name was Fletcher. I'm assuming they knew it was going to be Chad the whole time, but they read a lot of different people. It wasn't until my screen test that they told me the character was Chad." He tested with Kate Mansi, who was then playing Abigail Deveraux. "It was nice because from the very first moment, we had a lot of chemistry, so it made it easier," he said.
