Young And Restless Introduced Sharon And Other Big Moments From June 28 In Soap History

In 1988, Darnell Williams, pictured with Debbi Morgan as Angie Hubbard and Z. Wright as Frankie Hubbard, exited All My Children as Jesse Hubbard, who appeared to have died from a gunshot wound. He began playing the Daytime Emmy-winning role of Jesse in 1981, and returned to the show in 1993, 2001 and 2002 as a ghost, then in 2008 as a miraculously back-from-the-dead Jesse.

In 1994, the character of Sharon Collins made her first appearance on Young and Restless — and while Sharon Case would make her debut in the role later in the year, she was actually the third actress to portray the role. The character's original portrayer was Monica Potter (pictured with Joshua Morrow as Nick Newman), who would go on to star in films like Con Air and prime-time shows like Parenthood. Potter was soon replaced with Heidi Mark, who in turn soon ceded the role to Case.

In 1996, Stephen Nichols (r., with Tyler Christopher as Nikolas Cassadine) made his General Hospital debut as Stefan Cassadine. The actor, who has since reprised the role of Steve Johnson on Days of Our Lives, remained with the show until 2002, then returned in 2003. Stefan's introduction into the Port Charles landscape shook Luke and Laura's relationship to its core, as his sexual past with Laura (off-screen, while Laura was being held captive on Cassadine Island) was revealed.

In 2002, Bridget Forrester (then-Jennifer Finnigan) confronted her mother, Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) about her affair with Bridget’s husband, Deacon, on Bold and Beautiful. Brooke and Deacon's scandalous involvement produced a daughter, Hope.

In 2011, Ashley (Eileen Davidson) and Tucker (Stephen Nichols) wed on Young and Restless. Though the marriage didn't last, they tried again in 2023 — and once again, the union was a bust.
