When Liam (pictured with Jacqueline MacInnes Wood as Steffy Forrester, one of Liam's future wives) was introduced in 2010, he landed a job as a computer technician at Spencer Publications. Liam, whose mother, Kelly, had passed away, was on the hunt for his birth father and suspected that his dad might be Ridge Forrester, Steffy's pop.

Liam was in for a shock when it turned out that his bio dad was none other than publishing magnate Bill Spencer (Don Diamont). Bill held a press conference late in 2010 to announce his discovery of an adult son.

Amber (Adrienne Frantz) lied to Liam that he was the father of her daughter, Rosie, in an effort to get her hands on his Spencer millions — but she also came to his rescue when her trailer exploded in 2011.

Liam was left reeling when gal pal Hope Logan dumped him in 2011 — and wound up impulsively marrying Steffy atop a mountain in Aspen. Little did he know that Hope had been trying to get to him, but Bill trapped her in a gondola to thwart a "Lope" reunion!

Liam and Hope (then-Kim Matula) found their way back to one another and, after his marriage to Steffy was annulled, the lovebirds said, "I do" in a gorgeous ceremony in picturesque Puglia, Italy.

It was "I do," take two for Liam and Steffy in 2013. They exchanged vows at the Forrester estate with Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) officiating. The nontraditional bride arrived at the ceremony by motorcycle, and opted to wear black. As a surprise for his bride, Liam arranged for a performance by recording artist Julia Michaels.

Liam and Steffy were both shattered when, not long after their nuptials, she suffered a miscarriage. In the wake of her pregnancy loss, Steffy left Liam and moved to Paris.

Liam battled his half brother, Wyatt (Darin Brooks), pictured in 2013, for Hope's affections both literally and figuratively.

In 2014, heartbroken after Hope wed Wyatt, Liam had a short-lived relationship with Ivy Forrester (Ashleigh Brewer). Despite its fizzling, Liam agreed to marry Ivy the following year to prevent her from being deported back to her native Australia. The union ended, as so many B&B marriages do, in an annulment.

In 2016, Quinn (Rena Sofer), Wyatt's overprotective mama, was so determined to keep Liam and a back-in-town Steffy apart so that Wyatt could get his own happy ending with her that she capitalized on Liam's amnesia by holding him hostage in a remote cabin, convincing him that they were lovers named (what else?!) Adam and Eve. When Liam's memory returned, he and Steffy swiftly reunited.

In 2017, Liam remarried Steffy in Australia in front of the Sydney Opera House. Gushed the bride, "I love that you stand by your values and your principles, and you fight for what's good and honest. And you never stopped believing in us."

In 2017, Liam tried — and failed — to make a power grab at his father's company. He and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) then nearly died when Bill leveled the Spectra Fashions building. Believing they were going to die, the duo shared a kiss. When Steffy found out about the buss, she wound up accepting comfort from her father-in-law — and slept with Bill! Steffy learned she was pregnant and feared that Bill might be the father.

In 2018, Liam walked out on Steffy after discovering her tryst with his father, snarling to her that their life together was a lie. Even though the child Steffy was carrying proved to be Liam's baby, Liam couldn't get past her betrayal.

Liam became a first-time father with the June 2018 birth of Kelly, his daughter with Steffy.

Liam and Hope (Annika Noelle) made it official yet again in 2018, with a ceremony held at the Forrester mansion.

Hope and Liam had been led to believe that their baby girl, Beth, had died at birth in 2019. The parents were both overjoyed when, later that year, they were reunited with their precious daughter (who Steffy had unwittingly adopted, named Phoebe and had been raising as her own).

Poor Liam was arrested for the hit-and-run death of Thomas’s friend Vinny in 2021. Fortunately, a recording surfaced showing that Vinny had deliberately jumped out in front of Liam’s car, and Liam was set free.

Liam sat by Steffy’s bedside after Sheila shot her and “killed” Finn in 2022. Initially, Steffy believed she was still wed to Liam, but upon regaining her memory she had to come to terms with Finn’s “death.” Liam supported Steffy through her grief until Finn was finally revealed to be alive.

Already peeved that Hope was working with Thomas on her Hope For The Future fashion line, Liam was absolutely crushed when he witnessed the pair kissing while they were in Rome on business in 2023. He confronted her about the incident when she returned to Los Angeles and immediately asked for a divorce.

Unattached for the first time in years, Liam decided to focus on his career and children in 2024. However, his ex Ivy’s return to Los Angeles briefly changed things when she planted a kiss on him during a nostalgic encounter at Il Giardino.

In 2025, Liam stormed into Bill’s house and chastised him for arranging for murderous Luna to be pardoned. Spitting that he was done with his father, Liam quit his job at Spencer Publications. After an angry Bill walked out on him, Liam collapsed twice. Fortunately, Steffy found him and rushed to the hospital, where he underwent emergency brain surgery.
