A Look Back At Y&R’s Nick And Sharon

Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon (Sharon Case) met in 1994, married in 1996 and divorced in 2007. Subsequent tries to get back together have backfired but their recent reconciliation just may stick this time. Here’s a look back at what’s kept this couple apart.

2005: The beginning of the end for the Newman marriage was when their daughter, Cassie (Camryn Grimes) died. Nick and Sharon grew distant as each tried to cope with the overwhelming grief in their own way.

2006: The final nail in Nick and Sharon’s union was when his affair with Phyllis (then-Michelle Stafford) resulted in her pregnancy. After Phyllis’s daughter, Summer, was born, the new mom tied the knot with Nick in 2007.

2010: Nick and Phyllis split and he proposed to Sharon. She accepted, had second thoughts and slept with his brother, Adam (Michael Muhney). Nick found out and dumped Sharon.

2014: Nick and Sharon decided to give matrimony another try but the wedding was interrupted by Phyllis (Gina Tognoni), who everyone thought was in a coma. Because of the interruption, plus Phyllis fainting right there in the chapel, the nups were called off.

2014: Phyllis forced Sharon to not only confess that she was the reason Phyllis ended up in a coma, but also that Sharon had tampered with Summer’s paternity test results to make it look like Jack (Peter Bergman) was her father. Once again, Nick walked out on Sharon.
