Young and Restless’s Melody Thomas Scott To Receive A Star On The Hollywood Walk of Fame

Comments

Melody Thomas Scott, beloved to daytime fans for her long-running role as Nikki Newman on Young and Restless, has been named among the newest recipients of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, as announced by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s Walk of Fame Selection Panel. This places her alongside other entertainment figures in film, television, live theater, music and sports who were announced as honorees during a press conference on July 2.

Hollywood Star

Thomas Scott first joined the CBS soap as Nikki Reed in 1979 and recently celebrated 45 years in the iconic role. She told Digest at the time she marked the milestone, “The contract I was offered was for three years. I just assumed that that would be the duration of my time there. When they opted to extend it, I was thrilled. Those first three years had changed my life in such positive ways, I didn’t think twice about agreeing to three more years! And so forth and so on!”

This isn’t the only honor the Y&R star has received in recent years. In 2024, she and her producer husband, Edward Scott, were bestowed with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 51st Annual Daytime Emmy AwardsIn a joint statement, the couple said at the time, “We are honored and humbled to receive this recognition from NATAS. Throughout our decades-long careers in front of and behind the cameras, we have had the opportunity to work not only with each other, but also with an incredibly talented pool of people who excel in their crafts and are passionate about the art we create in daytime television. We are grateful to have worked side by side with them and to be included with such esteemed recipients who have made their mark in our industry.”

In addition to Thomas Scott, who was chosen in the field of television, there are a few other familiar names from the world of daytime who are joining the Class of 2026: former All My Children star and Daytime Emmy winner Sarah Michelle Gellar (ex-Kendall Hart) also for television; Demi Moore (ex-Jackie Templeton, General Hospital) for motion pictures; and Lea Salonga (ex-Lien Hughes, As the World Turns) for live theater/live performance.
