Young and Restless Star Lucas Adams Expecting First Child With Wife Shelby Wulfert
Congratulations are in order for Young and Restless star Lucas Adams (Noah) and his wife, Shelby Wulfert, who are expecting their first child together. “We could not be more excited about this news,” the mom-to-be shared in a joint Instagram post with her hubby, sharing a carousel of photos from their maternity photo shoot on the beach.
Baby Makes Three
Adams and Wulfert told People that the new addition to their family is due in February 2026, but they are keeping the baby’s sex a secret until its birth. In the maternity photo shoot, the expectant mom was wearing a crop top and skirt to show off her baby bump, and the pics include shots of the parents-to-be walking on the beach, posing together, Adams kissing her belly, and the sonogram is also featured in some images.
The couple first met back in 2015 on the set of the Disney Channel series Liv and Maddie, in which Adams portrayed the recurring character of Josh Willcox and Wulfert worked as a body double for series star Dove Cameron to create the illusion she was playing the show’s titular twins. “She’s fantastic,” Adams enthused to Soap Opera Digest about his then-girlfriend back in 2017. “We’re both big Star Wars nerds. She’s also one of the only people I know that actually likes to watch people play video games. She’ll just sit there and read a book and watch me. She’s a big-time reader, interested in all kinds of books of every genre and subject. She’s my best friend, so the fact that I’m able to have a relationship with her, and we’ll hang out and we’ll want to tell each other everything is just mind-blowing to me. It’s great.”
It was a few years later, in July 2021, that Adams popped the question to his beloved with a sunset proposal during a trip to the Lake Tahoe area with their dog, Lando. “I had this ring in my back pocket, wondering how I’m going to get it out of my pocket and how I’m going to do this,” the actor recalled to Digest shortly after announcing his engagement. “We waited for Lando to finish the bowl of water we brought for him and then I said, ‘Well, Lando needs more water,’ and she said, ‘I’ll go get it,’ which was perfect. She got up and I was walking behind her and she filled his water bowl and then was kind of looking off. She said she was kind of having her own moment, seeing the place for the last time, and she turned around and I was on my knee and she said with tears in her eyes, ‘Of course I will, baby.’ ”
The ring was a family heirloom. “My grandfather gave me a diamond of my grandmother’s,” he shared. “She passed away when I was about 11 and I had asked him about a year-and-a-half ago if he had any rings left that he would be willing to let me use. He brought me one the next summer, so I had the ring for about a year before I asked her. I didn’t want to ask her during quarantine. I said, ‘I’ve had it in my closet for a year.’ She had no idea.”
The couple tied the knot the following year, on October 15, 2022, in Waxahachie, Texas, and not only are they now eagerly awaiting the birth of their first child, but so are some of his former co-stars from Days of Our Lives, where he played Tripp Dalton from 2017-19 and again from 2020-24. “Yes!” cheered Brandon Barash (ex-Stefan; ex-Jake) in the comments of the Instagram post. “I’m ecstatic for you guys. Get ready for the ride of your lives. Nothing like it.” Paul Telfer (Xander) declared it “amazing news,” Martha Madison (Belle) added, “Sooooo happy for you two!” and Dan Feurriegel (EJ) predicted the kid would be a “Future hall of famer. ⚾️❤️”
