The Bold and the Beautiful: Scott Clifton Reacts to Darin Brooks’ Return as Wyatt

Comments

Darin Brooks is set to return to The Bold and the Beautiful as Wyatt Spencer on Wednesday, May 27 — and his on-screen brother, Scott Clifton (Liam), made it clear with a celebratory online post that he’s excited about the family reunion.

Band of Brothers

While Liam and Wyatt have had a sometimes rocky relationship over the years, Clifton and Brooks clicked immediately behind the scenes when Brooks joined the B&B cast in 2013, three years after Clifton’s debut. In an interview with Soap Opera Digest about their self-described “bromance” just a few months into working together, Clifton complimented his co-star for “the ease that both Wyatt and Darin have when they walk into a room. They’re not self-conscious. They’re very comfortable and it makes you comfortable around them. Darin brings a lot of that to Wyatt.”

Brooks also saw Clifton’s own best characteristics seeping into his work, noting, “There is a sweetness about Scott that he brings to his character and I think that’s what the audience loves most about Liam. He’s such a white knight type of guy, and I think that does come from Scott himself.”

The bromance only deepened over the years — which could be controversial on set! Brooks grinned to Digest in 2020, “Let’s just say that Scott  and I have a really good time when it’s the two of us in a scene. Everybody either loves it or hates it because we keep making jokes and then people laugh and then they’re always telling us to move on.”

Brooks left the show in 2023 as Wyatt’s story waned. In 2025, Clifton told Digest that while the actors’ real-life friendship had continued, he missed working opposite him, “I love him and I can text him any time I want, I can call him any time I want, but I don’t know if I’ll ever get to play with him on stage ever again, I don’t know if I’ll ever get to do a scene as Liam and Wyatt with him ever again.”

So, it comes as no surprise that when the show broke the news that Brooks had signed on for a return trip to the show, Clifton was thrilled. On his Instagram Stories, the actor enthused, “We’re gettin’ the band back together, baby 😎” punctuated by the “smiling face with sunglasses emoji.” Brooks reposted Clifton’s message and replied, “Yeahhhh baby!!! 😎 🤘🤘🤘.”

What remains to be seen is whether Liam and Wyatt will get along smoothly this time around or if old tensions will resurface. With Liam happily married to Hope (Annika Noelle), hopefully the brothers won’t fall into destructive patterns of falling for the same woman. As Brooks noted to Digest in 2020, “Scott and I, from day one, talked about how these two characters never had a father or brother or sister growing up, and finding out that there was someone out there was like finding a balance. It was like finding that love that was missing. You want to love your brother, but then you can’t because you’re fighting over a girl you both love. It was loving but competitive.”

But speaking with Entertainment Weekly about his return, Brooks made it sound like the brothers — along with younger sibling Will (Crew Morrow) — are getting along just fine. The Spencers, he reported, have been “falling back into things, having fun, and ragging on [Bill, Don Diamont], and he rags on us. It’s like that, you know, father-son banter that I think the audience really loves and misses.”
