STAR TREK Alum Comes Aboard Y&R

Y&R will venture to a new frontier when Nichelle Nichols, who played the iconic Uhura on the original STAR TREK series, as well as six movies, will make a two-day appearance in celebration of the soap’s 11,000th episode. “I’m thrilled and honored to be a member of the cast of this historic moment in daytime television,” Nichols told Mashable in a statement. “I’ve been a huge fan of ‘The Young and the Restless’ for decades. I’m equally honored to be from Chicago like the Bell Family who created this incredible TV show.” Nichols first beams down to Genoa City on September 1.
