Ryan Gosling Responds to Deidre Hall’s Days of Our Lives Invite: ‘A Very Enthusiastic Yes!’

Comments

The saga we didn’t know we needed but are absolutely living for continues! First, three-time Academy Award nominee Ryan Gosling sang the praises of Days of Our Lives, hard-working soap actors, and Deidre Hall (Marlena) in particular, while appearing as a guest on the Happy Sad Confused podcast to promote his new movie, the box office smash Project Hail Mary. Hall then responded, thanking Gosling for his kind words and issuing an open invitation for him to visit the DAYS set. Now, in a video posted to Project Hail Mary‘s official Instagram account, the actor replied enthusiastically to the pitch.

Hail Yeah!

“Deidre Hall, are you kidding me?” Gosling declared in the clip. “Yes! This is a very enthusiastic yes to a very cordial invitation to visit you on set. I will be there to thank you in person for being my OG acting inspiration. It wasn’t Marlon Brando in On the Waterfront. It wasn’t [Robert] De Niro in Taxi Driver. It was you. And I want to thank you for your offer. Any time, anywhere… You tell me, I’ll be there.”

The actor also expressed his gratitude to Happy Sad Confused host Josh Horowitz for setting all of this in motion, even though Horowitz appeared skeptical of his guest’s praise for soap actors during their conversation. Gosling playfully teased Horowitz for this, saying, “And I also want to thank Josh Horowitz for making this happen in some way. He’s kind of a magical guy, even though he obviously doesn’t know what he doesn’t know. But he knows now. Or at least… he’s gonna know.”

When Gosling was commending Hall’s work on the podcast, he made particular mention of the infamous storyline when Marlena was possessed by the devil. While inviting the movie star to visit Salem, the daytime icon joked, “Nobody will be possessed. And if they are, I’ll keep an eye on you.” In his video response, Gosling promised, “I’m not worried about the possession. I’ll say a Hail Mary before I get there. I’ll be fine. And see you on set.”

Some of Hall’s DAYS co-stars weighed in on Gosling paying them a visit in Salem in the comments of the post, with Paul Telfer (Xander) cleverly calling it: “Project Hail Marlena! 🙌👸🙌.” Robert Scott Wilson (Alex) wrote, “In Gosling we trust. ⚡️,” adding, “He’s got Kiriakis written all over….” Eric Martsolf (Brady) declared, “Good stuff man🤟.” Brandon Barash (ex-Stefan/Jake) commented “Loving This,” and Former Head Writer Ron Carlivati also commented on the video, writing, “Dying. What a guy.”
