Days of Our Lives Star Deidre Hall Reacts to Ryan Gosling’s Marlena Shout-out
During a recent episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast, actor Ryan Gosling was promoting his new movie, Project Hail Mary, when he shared with host Josh Horowitz that he was a big fan of Days of Our Lives growing up. While Horowitz seemed skeptical — a bit dismissive, even — Gosling explained why he loved it, praising the actors for consistently delivering the large amount of material they are asked to perform in one take. The movie star specifically noted the iconic storyline when Deidre Hall’s Marlena was possessed by the devil, calling her a “great actress” for pulling it off. Now, Hall has personally responded to Gosling in a video message posted to Instagram.

“Hi Josh, hi Ryan,” she began, before pausing to specifically introduce herself to Horowitz. “Uh, Josh, it’s Deidre Hall,” she joked, smiling knowingly as she added, “I know you don’t…” When Horowitz shared the clip on Instagram, he laughed, “Did I just get dragged by Deidre Hall?! I didn’t have this on my bingo card this week.”
With the teasing out of the way, Hall then got down to business. “I caught the podcast,” she shared. “Oh my gosh, what fun! And we played it in the dressing room, and we played it in the makeup room, and we’re just thrilled to be acknowledged and to be so well spoken of. Because we work really hard, as you acknowledged.
“So we think it would be nice if you wanted to come over and see what we do in our neck of the woods,” the DAYS icon continued. “So this is an open invitation to visit the Days of Our Lives set.” Hall grinned and closed by promising, “Nobody will be possessed. And if they are, I’ll keep an eye on you.”
Now that Project Hail Mary has been released in theaters and become a box office hit, perhaps Gosling has some time before his next project to pay a visit to Salem? Let us know what you think about the idea of the movie star making an appearance on DAYS in the comments below!
