RJ on The Bold and the Beautiful: Everything You Need To Know
The character of RJ Forrester on Bold and Beautiful grew up pretty quickly, so if you need some background on him, we’re happy to help! Originally played by child actors including Jack Horan and Mace Coronel, RJ was aged into a teen in 2016 and recast with Anthony Turpel, who remained with the soap until 2018. B&B brought the character back in April 2023, this time with Joshua Hoffman playing the Forrester heir. He made his last appearance in October 2024, and when RJ returned to the canvas in January 2026, the role was recast with daytime newcomer Brayan Nicoletti.
When Brooke Logan found herself pregnant, she wasn’t sure whether the baby daddy was Ridge Forrester or his brother, Nick Marone. After multiple paternity tests were tampered with, Jackie Payne ran another, and as Brooke went into labor, she informed her that Ridge was the child’s real father. Planning to name the baby after his father, Brooke then went with Ridge Forrester Jr., with everyone calling the boy RJ following his birth in 2004.
As a child, RJ was mostly kept out of Forrester and Logan family drama. Though when unintentionally left home alone with his sister, Hope Logan, the kids accidentally set a fire in the living room! Child Protective Services got involved, and Brooke and Ridge fought for custody, with Brooke eventually winning out. And when Brooke was missing along with Thomas Forrester following a plane crash in the Pacific Ocean, everyone went out of their way to keep RJ in the dark until his mom was home safe and sound.

RJ returned from boarding school in 2016 and immediately set about reuniting his parents, since Brooke was engaged to Bill Spencer at the time. Urging his father to fight for the woman he loves, RJ even helped Ridge draw a giant heart in the sand on the beach with their names in it as a romantic gesture that eventually sealed the deal.
RJ fell hard for new Forrester intern Coco Spectra, and when Forrester designs showed up on a Spectra runway, he rushed to her defense, insisting she wasn’t like the rest of her family. Unfortunately, her sister, Sally Spectra, had given her a necklace with a camera in it, so Coco had no idea she was helping her steal. RJ stood by Coco after Ridge fired her and also begrudgingly accepted Brooke’s decision to marry Bill instead of Ridge.

Trying to impress Coco, RJ let her drive Ridge’s Camaro, but she crashed into a tree because she was taking selfies while driving. RJ was hospitalized with a concussion and Brooke scolded her son, saying they were lucky to still be alive. When Ridge went missing in the Persian Gulf after Bill dumped him out of a helicopter, RJ was relieved that his father returned home safely. And he was even happier when Brooke and Ridge decided to get back together.
RJ hadn’t been seen since 2018, and when he came home in April 2023, he’d been traveling the world as an influencer on social media. Ridge, Brooke, and Hope were all thrilled to see him again, and RJ said that while he had been staying away to avoid the family drama, he was planning on sticking around for a while.
RJ resisted his father’s attempts to get him to start designing, but when Eric Forrester asked his grandson to help him create his final legacy collection, he agreed. With Eric’s degenerative illness preventing him from actually drawing, RJ helped sketch out his grandfather’s designs. He also became smitten with the new Forrester intern, Luna Nozawa, and when her aunt, Li Finnegan, insisted that the young woman quit working for the company, he was determined to keep her around!

RJ was happy with his budding relationship with Luna, but heartbroken to learn that his grandfather was dying. Caught between Eric and Ridge, RJ finally caved and told his parents about Eric’s condition, which caused Ridge to lie that Eric had won their fashion showdown. This closeness between the three left Zende Forrester feeling left out, and RJ wished he could tell him the truth about Eric as well. The truth came out when Eric collapsed at a family party, and Luna supported RJ as they waited to see if the experimental surgery would save his life. Ridge asked his son to help him finish Eric’s final collection, which created even more friction between Zende and RJ.
Thankfully, Eric survived, but RJ continued clashing with Zende, especially when his rival lured Luna into a romantic dinner with him. Learning that Luna’s mother, Poppy Nozawa, had a past with Bill Spencer, RJ suggested to his girlfriend that Bill could be her father, though Poppy didn’t want to discuss it. RJ rented the beach house from Bill and moved in, later christening the place by making love with Luna. After celebrating Eric and Donna’s wedding, RJ was concerned that Luna left rather inebriated, and didn’t understand her erratic behavior in the months that followed until she finally confessed that she’d taken some of her mother’s “special mints” and, while in her drugged state, slept with Zende!
It took a little while, but RJ and Luna reconciled, though they had another scare when she momentarily thought she was pregnant. He was also surprised, like everyone else, when a DNA test proved that Bill was Luna’s father, and she and Poppy moved into the Spencer estate. When Tom Starr and Hollis were murdered, Katie Logan asked RJ about Poppy, and he told her about the mints. And after Luna showed him Tom’s letters to Poppy claiming to be her father, RJ shared that with Katie as well. When Poppy was arrested, RJ comforted Luna, not realizing that she was actually the one behind the murders! Naturally, he was horrified when Steffy was kidnapped, and the truth about Luna was finally revealed. Especially when he found out Luna had faked being on drugs and purposefully slept with Zende!
After attending a Forrester Creations meeting to discuss Hope for the Future in October 2024, RJ wasn’t seen again for quite some time until he resurfaced in January 2026.
