What Happened to Luna on Bold and Beautiful
Luna on Bold and Beautiful is relatively new to the canvas, so fans are naturally curious about the young woman. The character first appeared in the Sept. 13, 2023, episode of the soap played by daytime newcomer Lisa Yamada. Viewers might recognize the actress from her recent role in Freeform’s mystery series Cruel Summer or appearances in shows like Party of Five, All American, Little Fires Everywhere, and Promised Land. And while Luna appeared perfectly sweet and innocent on B&B to start, she turned out to have a much darker side. And in July 2025, it appeared that her actions had finally caught up with her when Luna was pronounced dead, but that wasn’t the end of Yamada’s time on the soap after all.
Luna was introduced as a new intern at Forrester Creations when she entered the family mansion with an armload of supplies for Eric Forrester and R.J. Forrester to help create the new couture line they were working on. When Eric asked Donna Logan why she hired Luna over all the other applicants, she had to admit she never looked at her resume, but when Luna pitched in on reception, they had a nice talk, and she made the decision.

However, while Donna and R.J. both felt they could trust Luna (R.J. was immediately smitten with the beauty!), the young woman then took a phone call from a mysterious woman who was upset to learn she was in Los Angeles and warned her to stay away from the Forresters!
After Luna assured R.J. she would keep Eric’s condition a secret, he insisted she tell him a secret of her own. She told him she was raised by her mother, who was a bit of a free spirit, though her grandfather and aunt were more driven. And then, during another call with her mother begging her to get out of L.A. and away from the Forresters, it was revealed that her aunt is Li Finnegan! And when Li found out that her niece was working at Forrester, she demanded that she quit her new job and get far away from that family!
With R.J. backing her up, Luna informed her aunt she wasn’t going to give up her internship. And she was happy to help out when Forrester staged a fashion showdown between Ridge and Eric. Then Luna’s mother, Poppy Nozawa, showed up, and while Luna was happy to see her, Li was… much less delighted! Luna was nervous when R.J. invited her to dinner with Steffy Forrester and Finn Finnegan, but it went well, and later she and R.J. declared their love for each other.

Luna accepted an anonymous invitation to dinner, thinking it was from R.J., but when it turned out to be from Zende Forrester, she shut him down. When she told R.J. what had happened, he warned Zende to back off. As they were having trouble finding time to be alone together, Luna was happy when R.J. rented the beach house from Bill Spencer. Learning of Bill’s past connection to Poppy, R.J. wondered if he could be Luna’s father, but when she asked her mother, Poppy insisted he wasn’t. Luna remained curious about her father’s identity, and Poppy begged her to leave it alone.
R.J. and Luna consummated their relationship and were deliriously happy… until the night of Eric and Donna’s impromptu wedding. Luna had only had a little champagne, but also popped a few of her mother’s mints, which left her disoriented, and when she woke up the next morning, she was horrified to find herself in bed with Zende! She explained she thought she’d slept with R.J., and Zende felt terrible. Luna accused her mother of drugging her and causing the hallucination, and Poppy felt guilty that Luna had gotten hold of her “special” mints. A guilt-ridden Luna wanted to come clean with R.J. about what had happened, but Poppy and Zende begged her not to.
Luna turned her attention to another issue and pressed her mother to tell her who her real father was, but Poppy continued to deflect. Eventually, Luna could take no more and confessed to R.J. about sleeping with Zende. Although he blamed Zende for taking advantage of her, R.J. told Luna he needed some time to process everything. Soon enough, Luna and R.J. reconciled, but when she was sick to her stomach, she worried she might be pregnant. Thankfully, she wasn’t, so Luna again turned her attention to finding out who her father was. Poppy admitted it could be Bill, so they did a home DNA test, which Li administered herself to ensure accuracy. But Li was shocked when the test revealed Bill was Luna’s biological father!

Bill invited Poppy and Luna to move in with him, and Liam Spencer welcomed his sister into the family. Luna was surprised when Tom Starr overdosed, but was especially upset when Hollis also died under similar circumstances. However, things got even more complicated when Bill’s ex, Katie Logan, accused Poppy of killing the men! Luna blasted Katie for accusing her mother, but when she discovered Tom’s backpack in their apartment and read the letters where he claimed to be her father, Luna demanded answers. Poppy confessed that Tom had claimed to be her father, but noted the DNA test made it clear that wasn’t true. Luna wondered if her mother was capable of murder, and while Poppy denied the accusations, the police arrested her based on new evidence.
Stunned, Luna didn’t know what to believe anymore, and she and Bill did another home DNA test themselves, which said that he was not her father. Completely thrown, Luna fell into Bill’s comforting arms, but things took a turn when she suddenly kissed him! Bill pushed her away, and she tried to apologize, but when she kissed him again and Steffy saw, things got even wilder! Steffy confronted Luna about the kiss, and as Luna explained how wonderful Bill was, Steffy soon came to realize that Luna had been behind the murders! But before she could do anything, she passed out from the drugs Luna had slipped into her drink!
Steffy awoke to find that Luna had built a cage around her in her and Poppy’s old apartment, and Luna informed her that the building was empty because it was going to be demolished, so no one would hear her. Luna then gloated about how she had set her sights on Bill and faked the paternity test to have him in her life, but when Tom appeared with his letters, she had to take him out of the picture. And when Hollis discovered the letters, she had to silence him as well! Thankfully, Finn arrived to save Steffy, and Li prevented Luna from escaping so she could be arrested and thrown in jail.

In November, Luna received a visit from her mother and was privately pleased to hear that Poppy and Bill had broken up. She wrote a letter to Bill apologizing for her actions and later tried writing again. When Poppy visited in December, she admitted she couldn’t forgive her daughter for the horrible things she’d done. Luna was surprised when Bill visited her, and she tried to insist that she wasn’t a cold-blooded killer.
As 2025 began, Bill paid Luna another visit and saw that she had been badly beaten. She begged him to get her out of prison before she died in there, and he actually managed to get her released into his custody, wearing an ankle monitor and living at his mansion under house arrest. She soon found herself smitten with his son, Will Spencer, and bonded with Bill over their rough childhoods. When Remy Pryce showed up to fix Bill’s air conditioning, Luna was pleased to learn how infamous she had become.
Luna was stunned when Finn showed up and revealed that he was her biological father. Horrified by the news, Steffy also lashed out at Bill for getting Luna out of prison. She insisted on locking the double murderer up again, but everyone was shocked to learn Bill had pulled further strings and gotten Luna a full pardon! Sheila was delighted to learn she had a granddaughter and offered Luna advice as she attempted to pursue Will. Unfortunately, the young Spencer wasn’t even remotely interested as he was happily dating Electra Forrester, and had no interest in the ex-con.

Upset that Steffy was adamant that Luna stay away from Finn, she visited her father anyway and begged him not to let his wife keep them from getting to know each other. After Steffy kicked her out again, Luna raged, and Sheila realized that her granddaughter was dangerous and urged her to leave town. Instead, Luna got a gun, and when Remy saw her at the firing range learning to shoot and ranting about Steffy, he grew concerned.
Luna was stalking Steffy and Finn’s son, Hayes, and when his teacher, Ms. Dylan, invited her to show the class her origami techniques, she called herself “Miss Sunshine.” When Will showed up at her door claiming he’d broken up with his girlfriend, Luna was surprised, but as they continued talking, she realized he was wearing a wire to get her threatening Steffy on tape for the cops. She then pulled out her gun and ordered him out!
Steffy and Taylor were unnerved by the fortune teller Hayes brought home from school, so when the teacher asked Steffy to meet, she agreed, wanting to discuss the mysterious “Miss Sunshine.” She walked straight into the trap, and Luna ordered Steffy to let her see her father. Learning Luna had a gun, Sheila raced to stop her, and as she tried to get the gun away from Luna, she was shot in the foot. Luna continued to spiral, and when Liam arrived, their struggle over the weapon left Liam shot in the chest! Rallying his strength, Liam got the gun away and shot Luna! Everyone was rushed to the hospital, but Luna’s condition took a turn, and she began bleeding out. Despite Li’s best efforts, she was unable to save her niece, and later informed Poppy and everyone else that Luna had died in recovery.

However, soon after, Li took a leave of absence from the hospital, and it was revealed that she was treating a very much alive Luna in her home. After regaining consciousness, Luna was excited when Sheila told her that Il Giardino was hosting a party to celebrate Will’s promotion at Forrester, and sneaked out to crash it. In disguise, Luna helped out behind the bar, serving Will drinks made with extra-strong liquor so he’d get drunk faster. After Deacon sent him upstairs to sleep it off, Luna donned the mask that Electra had been wearing at the bash to disguise herself and crawled into bed with him!
