Ridge has experienced a lot of upheaval. How is he coping regarding Shauna? Brooke? Thomas? Where do we even start? “Well, the whole thing with Shauna, as I’ve said to you before, is she is a breath of fresh air. What I like about their relationship is in your 20s, when he and Brooke met, it’s all about the passion and the sex, and as you get older, you get to a certain point when it comes to, ‘What is it that you can give another person to make their life better? How are the two of you better together than you are alone?’ I think maybe Ridge has finally seen that his life with Brooke couldn’t be that — and maybe he’s looking at Shauna thinking, ‘This could be a whole, new, fresh start.’ ”
Ridge and Brooke were so close to a reunion, but Thomas constantly stood in their way. Does it bother him that Brooke was right about Thomas all along? “As a father, you always want to see the best in your kids because they are a reflection of who you are, and you either take responsibility for how messed up they are or you don’t. I believe Ridge was caught somewhere in the middle there. He’s clearly emotional about it, still, but he was trying to keep an open mind.”
What was worse for Ridge, Thomas’s betrayal or Bill’s kiss with Brooke? “With the whole Thomas thing, Ridge was not always the biggest Liam fan because of what he did to Steffy for years. I know Steffy had her share of screwups, but as a father, Ridge thinks Liam should have tried to find a way to work through it instead of just walking away, which again, now, is kind of ironic. As for Spencer, that’s a whole other story.”
What about Bill? “Well, it’s no secret that he is a problem [laughs]. If that kiss with Brooke had happened with anyone else, well, it still would have been a problem but the fact that it was Bill? That just made it so much worse — and not just for Ridge but for Katie, too. Hasn’t that poor girl been through enough already? Give her a break!”
What do you think lies ahead for “Bridge”? “I have no idea. None. I haven’t read what’s coming. But it would be nice if Ridge maybe won while he was in Vegas!”
