The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has revoked the recent Daytime Emmy win of Patrika Darbo, who won a trophy in the Outstanding Guest Performer in a Digital Daytime Drama category for her role as THE BAY’s Mickey, reports variety.com. After an investigation, it was determined that Darbo’s submission contained two violations of the official rules. Because of the newness of the digital series categories, “There was nebulous information [in our rulebook] as to what constitutes an ‘episode’,” explained NATAS’ senior vice president David Michaels in the article. “We don’t want to penalize an innocent actor for that.” Turns out, there were other rules violations, which is why the actress with the next highest number of votes — Jennifer Bassey (ex-Marian, ALL MY CHILDREN) — didn’t win, either. “This has really broken my heart,” says Darbo.
