At Bo’s bedside, Bo and Matthew filled in Renee and Paige on their plans to build a tree house. When John arrived, the ladies left with Matthew to let the men chat. John reported to Bo that he and Cristian had shared a cup of coffee earlier and that Natalie had decided she didn’t want anything to do with either man. Bo recommended that John see a psychiatrist, which baffled and slightly offended him. John acknowledged that he’d made some mistakes, but was quite sure he didn’t need to analyze his feelings with a shrink. Bo then made it clear that he was ordering John to seek professional help if he wanted to keep his job.
Alone at Llanfair, Natalie thought back to her first Christmas with Cristian…. Cristian reeled from Jessica’s revelation that she suffers from dissociative identity disorder. Antoino explained that they were trying to figure out what childhood trauma triggered Jess’s personality split. Cris told Jess and Antonio how happy he was for them, with the baby on the way. Nat called in search of Cristian, so Antonio handed him the phone. Nat told Cris she needed him to come over, so Cris took off…. Antonio got salty with Jess when she said she hoped that Nash would be okay in Napa; Jessica defended herself as Tess materialized in Jess’s psyche to express worry over Nash’s well-being…. Cris arrived at Llanfair, interrupting Nat’s flashbacks to their wedding. She tried to return Cris’s belongings to him, but he said he didn’t want them — he wanted her. She angrily told him it’s his fault they’re not together anymore. “You should have fought for us,” she scolded. Cris vowed to spend the rest of his life making it up to her; she told him to sign the divorce papers. He hit her with a passionate buss under the mistletoe before departing, as John skulked outside.
A hospitalized Nash begged his nurse to let him call Tess back East; she handed him his cell phone. A Napa police officer interrupted, taking away Nash’s phone as he attempted to reach his girlfriend, and insisted that Nash cooperate with his investigation. But Nash refused to identify his attacker. “Look,” he sighed. “I deserved it. I hurt his daughter.” He pleaded with the cop to give him back his phone…. The nurse blocked Nash’s attempts to escape in order to get back to Tess, but consented to let him try to call Tess again.
Todd met with Evangeline in his jail cell. He thought Margaret’s swimming ability was proof that she set him up, but Vange pointed out that Margaret was strangled, which she couldn’t have done to herself. Todd thought about who else could be viable suspect. Before leaving, Vange assured Todd she would do everything in her power to clear Todd’s name and also gave Todd a present: a book about Nelson Mandela.
Blair sent Starr and Jack off to get cookies so, with Spencer by her side, she could take a Santa suit-clad Asa to task. Blair insisted that Todd was innocent; Asa smirked that before long, Blair would be in bed with Spencer. Spencer then took a verbal swing at Asa, accusing him of making his fortune on the misfortune of others, then strolled off with Blair, who lamented the affect of Todd’s incarceration on her kids…. Starr and Matthew met up by the snack station and debated which one of them was having a worse Christmas…. Spencer suggested she not think about Todd until after the holidays, which Blair dismissed as a lousy idea. She collected her kids and left. “Could it be that Blair is slipping through your fingers?” smirked Paige, who left after she and Spencer exhanged veiled threats.
Matthew gave Bo his Christmas gift: A sign that reads “Bo + Matthew’s Place: No Girls Allowed.” When Paige walked in, Matt assured her that he’d make an exception for her.
Blair brought the kids to see Todd, a treat Evangeline arranged.
