Gordon Thomson Pans DYNASTY Reboot
In a no-holds barred interview with The Daily Beast, soap vet Gordon Thomson (ex-Adam, DYNASTY; ex-Mason, SANTA BARBARA et al), weighs in on the DYNASTY reboot for The CW. “Why call it DYNASTY?” he wonders. “It’s nothing to do with DYNASTY at all. It’s insulting. If the afterlife exists — it doesn’t, but if it did — Aaron [Spelling, executive producer] would be having major fits in his grave…. It’s abominable.” He also dishes about the original series, revealing, “Joan [Collins, ex-Alexis] was jealous of Linda [Evans, ex-Krystle]. Linda was not the actress Joan was and is, and was just effortlessly adored by everybody on set, off set, the public. I have never met a more sympathetic, empathic, generous, gorgeous-looking human in my life. She was miraculous, and the audience knew that.” Thomson also comes out as a gay man in the interview, saying, “It’s not something I’ve ever announced. I’m assuming that people know, and now that I’m my age that’s fine. I don’t go out of my way because it’s my generation, I think. I’m probably as homophobic as any gay man alive because of my background.” To read the full interview, click here.
