General Hospital: The Surprising Verdict on Jason and Britt’s Reunion
Jason (Steve Burton) and Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) reunited on General Hospital in the July 27 episode after Jason’s return from Jakarta, and the pair even told each other “I love you.” But since then, their romance has received precious little screen time.
Jason’s air time has been focused on his decision to leave the mob and his desire to be a better role model for Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), while Britt has been occupied by her role as an on-probation physician at the hospital — and the occasional, ostensibly chemistry-testing encounter with Tristan (Dean Geyer).
And yet, none of that has necessarily cooled interest in “JaBritt.”
GH Fans Are Still All In On ‘JaBritt’
Soap Opera Digest recently asked General Hospital fans how they are currently feeling about Jason and Britt’s romance, and of the nearly 4,000 readers who voted, 53.8% said, “They’re perfect for each other!”
Another 19.4% said they’re rooting for Jason and Britt, but think they’re probably doomed. Combined, those two groups account for 73.2% of the vote, meaning nearly three-quarters of respondents are still rooting for the pairing in some fashion.
Of course, not everyone is sold on “JaBritt.” 21% of voters said they never thought Jason and Britt made sense as a couple, while the remaining 5.8% felt that “The old spark just isn’t there anymore.”
That last result may be the most telling. Despite the lack of follow-up since Jason and Britt’s reunion, only a small fraction of voters feel that whatever spark existed between them has disappeared. The largest group, by a considerable margin, still considers the characters perfect for each other.
Jason and Britt have had plenty of interruptions and obstacles over the years, but their latest reunion appeared to put them in a very different position: They’re together, they’re in love, and there is no immediate crisis keeping them apart. The poll results suggest that, at least among those who voted, there is still plenty of interest in seeing what happens when — and if — GH actually gives them a chance to be together.
