General Hospital Recap: Nathan’s Impostor Gets New Orders, Willow’s Drew Secret Isn’t Safe

Comments

On General Hospital on Wednesday, April 1, shocking realizations were made, details of a secret partnership were revealed and more! Lulu (Alexa Havins) asked Laura (Genie Francis) for a favor while Ezra (Daniel Cosgrove) urged the mayor to protect herself, Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) helped a grieving Lucas (Van Hansis) piece together missing information, Jack (Chris McKenna) reminded Nina (Cynthia Watros) that the clock was ticking on their deal, Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) realized that Kai (Jens Austin Astrup) and Trina (Tabyana Ali) were in the house the night she shot Drew (Cameron Mathison), and the truth about Nathan impostor Cassius (Ryan Paevey) came to light. Find out how it all went down below.

The Great Divide

Lulu met Lulu at Bobbie’s and asked if her mom would call in some favors to find out where the WSB had taken Jason. Laura wondered why Lulu was so interested in finding Jason, especially after he’d assaulted Dante. Lulu claimed that she and Jason reconnected when they’d worked together to defend the boys against Professor Dalton, and because Danny and Rocco were so close, the situation was upsetting for Rocco. Just as Laura agreed to reach out to Robert Scorpio, Ezra sat down at their table and declared that Port Charles was better off without a psychopath like Jason Morgan around. Lulu left after Ezra said he had information for Laura that she might not want her daughter to hear.

Once he was alone with the mayor, Ezra suggested to Laura that she hold a press conference and publicly condemn Sonny and Jason. When Laura refused, Ezra told her that Sidwell believed Sonny had Marco killed and was out for revenge, and if she wanted to protect herself from the businessman’s fury, she needed to distance herself from the men.

A Renewed Determination

At the hospital, Britt realized her symptoms might be returning when she spilled coffee on her desk. As she was cleaning it up, Lucas stopped by her office and told her that Cullum regained consciousness but didn’t remember who shot him. They commiserated over Marco’s death, each blaming themself for what had happened. When she told Lucas about Cullum destroying the medicine Marco had swiped from the Wyndemere safe, Lucas was crushed, crying that Marco’s death had been for nothing.

Next, Britt filled Lucas in on what happened once Cullum got to the pier, and Lucas realized that Cullum knew where to find her because he’d seen the text messages from Lucas on Marco’s phone — and that Cullum must have killed Marco (which Britt and Josslyn had already figured out). Devastated, Lucas broke down over the thought that he’d saved the life of Marco’s killer instead of being with his boyfriend while Marco was fighting for his life, and Britt comforted her frenemy with a hug.

Once he calmed down, Lucas asked Britt what she was going to do since she didn’t get her medicine, and she shrugged that it depended on how badly Sidwell wanted the project completed. Seething that Sidwell was responsible for everything — and that Marco’s death should mean something — a determined Lucas stalked out of Britt’s office to confront his late boyfriend’s father. After Lucas left, Britt placed a phone call, telling the person on the other end that she needed to see them.

A New Recruit

Barging into Nina’s office, Jack demanded that she make headway in getting Charlotte to open up about where Valentin is hiding, or else he’d reveal the missing video footage that placed Willow outside of Drew’s house the night of the shooting. Nina explained that she had spoken with Charlotte about Valentin, but knew Charlotte was lying when the teen claimed she hadn’t been in contact with her father. Nina asked Jack for more time to get the information he needed, and he warned her that if he found Valentin through one of his other sources before she came through, Willow would be finished.

After Jack left, Jacinda reminded Nina of a meeting with Enchanted, but Nina hissed that her assistant should reschedule since she needed to put out a fire Jacinda had caused by allowing Jack into the office. As punishment, Nina assigned Jacinda a near-impossible task due by the end of the day. Meanwhile, Jack waited until Nina left, then returned to Crimson to speak with Jacinda. He teased that he had a way for her to make up for the damaging testimony she’d given at Willow’s trial: If Jacinda managed to get Charlotte to reveal if she’s been in contact with her father, he’d give her information that Michael would find very useful.

The More You Know

At Willow’s office, Trina vented to Kai about the Congresswoman’s doting wife act, when in reality, she had shot her husband and framed her ex for the crime. Michael then arrived and asked Kai if he’d take Wiley onto his baseball team, since his son was struggling with his current coach. Sharing some personal experience, Kai said that change and progress come when you’re pushed out of your comfort zone, and he believed Wiley would feel a sense of accomplishment if he stuck it out with the tough coach. Kai suggested they give it a few weeks, and he’d add Wiley to the roster if he was still having the same issues. In the meantime, Kai agreed to give Wiley private lessons.

Over at the Cain house, Willow informed Drew that she was going to put in a call to CPS on Chase and Brook Lynn’s behalf, telling her husband that he could learn something from a real hero like Chase. She prattled on about their change in position, now that she had Drew locked in a metaphorical cage, whereas before, he’d had her locked in one by manipulating everything to keep her reliant on him. Just as she told Drew that she was respected by her political team, when he had never respected her, Willow’s thoughts turned to Kai’s comment that the sound of a cell phone ringing in the living room would carry to the bedroom, and how Trina knew Wiley’s ring tone was “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.” As it dawned on her that Kai has a key to the house and that Wiley had called her the night she shot Drew, Willow became alarmed that Kai and Trina might have been in the house that night.

Isn’t It Ironic

As soon as Willow made that revelation, Nina entered the house using her key and warned Willow that she’d received another visit from Jack Brennan. Informing her mother that it would have to wait because she needed to get to the office, Willow asked Nina to stay with Drew until Travis, the caregiver, arrived. Shortly after, Michael showed up at the house. Nina tried to get him to leave, but he insisted on visiting his uncle. Noticing Drew’s rapid blinking, Michael asked if he was trying to communicate something, but Nina shrugged that they didn’t understand why Drew did that. Addressing his uncle, Michael said he felt sorry for him because being stuck in a wheelchair had to be a terrible way to live, and noted the irony of Drew finally having Willow all to himself — even if it wasn’t the way he’d imagined.

Back at Willow’s office, Trina vented to Kai that she hated that all of Port Charles believed Michael had shot Drew and got away with it when they both knew that Willow had done it. Unbeknownst to Trina and Kai, Willow overheard their conversation from the hallway!

Twin Pique

In Sidwell’s study, Cassius reminded his partner that he isn’t supposed to call him by his real name, and Sidwell complimented him on how effortlessly he’d slipped into his late twin brother’s life. Cassius warned that Lucas might overhear them talking, and then all their work to embed him at the PCPD would have been for nothing, but Sidwell brushed him off since Lucas was on the mainland. Sidwell then instructed Cassius to use his position as “Detective Nathan West” at the PCPD to investigate Marco’s murder

Cassius pointed out that they needed to be cautious about how they exploited his position on the force, since he’d already gotten tripped up around Dante once when he broke the chain of custody with evidence for a case. After Cassius assured Jenz that he’d look into Marco’s death, Jenz again praised his impressive work in the role of Nathan, commenting that Cassius’s sudden appearance when Mayor Collins was having car trouble helped put her and Sonny under their control. Cassius replied that Sidwell set him up for success by poisoning Maxie, because by the time she came out of her coma, he’d had everyone in Port Charles convinced he was Nathan, and Maxie had no reason to doubt him.

Their conversation then turned to Britt, and Cassius confirmed that his sister had been planning to leave town with Jason Morgan. Jenz figured that Sonny must have ordered Jason to kill Marco on his way out of town, then Morgan shot Cullum when confronted by the agent on the pier. Not revealing that he knew Rocco had been the one to shoot Cullum, Cassius acknowledged that the theory was possible, but cautioned that they needed to find out what Cullum knew. Sidwell replied that he couldn’t visit the hospital without exposing their partnership, but no one would question it if Det. West visited the agent. He then ordered Cassius to find out if Cullum had any evidence connecting Sonny and Jason to Marco’s death. Sidwell also stated that Britt had to be held accountable for betraying them, regardless of her familial ties, and Cassius reluctantly agreed that his sister should be dealt with if she had, in fact, compromised their operation.

Later, after Cassius was gone, Lucas stormed into the study and asked Jenz if he wanted to know why Marco was murdered.

Meanwhile, Lulu was on Pier 55,  mentally retracing Rocco’s steps from the night of the shooting, when “Nathan” found her there. Still wracked with guilt, Lulu shared that she’d asked her mom to reach out to some WSB contacts to help Jason, but “Nathan” urged her to let it go. The WSB had their shooter, he said, and she didn’t need to give them a reason to look into it further.
