General Hospital Recap: Lulu’s Exposé on Willow and Drew Rocks Port Charles

Comments

On Thursday, October 8, on General Hospital, Lulu’s (Alexa Havins) article in The Invader was published, and the story exposing Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) had repercussions all over town. Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) offered her support to her cousin; Drew (Cameron Mathison) and Ava (Maura West) decided to use the hit piece to their advantage; Chase (Josh Swickard) blamed Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton), Michael (Rory Gibson), and Tracy (Jane Elliot) of using the press to spread lies about Willow; Jordan (Tanisha Harper) agreed to move forward with facial reconstruction surgery; Monet (Blythe Howard) convinced Curtis (Donnell Turner) to let her represent him before dropping a bombshell; and Carly (Laura Wright) affirmed her belief in Sonny (Maurice Benard). Keep on reading for the recap.

Ripple Effect

Drew learned from Carly that Lulu’s “profile” on him exposed that Willow had drugged him for months with a paralytic she’d procured from Sidwell. Carly found the exposé hilarious and enjoyed taunting Drew. Furious, Drew stormed out of her office without confirming if the allegations were true.

Summoning Ava to Bad Jen Café, Drew showed her the article, concerned that Lulu’s implication that the same drug was used on Brennan might open up a new investigation into the WSB chief’s disappearance, which could then be traced back to them.

Drew wasn’t sure whether he should confirm or deny the article. Since the story implied that Willow might have drugged Jack as well, Ava told him to confirm it, convinced their best chance to protect themselves was to use the article to bury Willow.

Blind Spot

In the Quartermaine kitchen, a giddy Tracy filled in Michael and Brook Lynn on the article. Michael and Tracy worried Willow would lash out and blame their family, and all three Quartermaines hoped the article would make Chase finally see Willow for who she really was.

Across town, Chase was with Monet discussing his separation when he learned about The Invader story, courtesy of a text from Tracy. He immediately headed to the Quartermaines, burst into the kitchen, and blamed Tracy, Michael, and Brook Lynn for what he saw as a hit piece.

Though the trio denied having any involvement, Chase didn’t believe them and vowed to stop them from trying to destroy Willow any further. After he left, Tracy comforted Brook Lynn, who was devastated that Chase still supported his ex-wife.

Cleanup Crew

Willow was freaking out about the article when Britt — who figured everything Lulu had written was true — showed up at the gatehouse to offer her support. Willow tearfully confessed the whole story to her cousin, including how Sidwell installed her in Drew’s congressional seat.

Britt was curious why Sidwell had come forward now, implicating himself in another crime, and pointed out that Drew had no proof Willow had drugged him — nor would he let his ego take a hit by confirming a story that made him look like a clueless tool. Willow fretted that the article’s mere existence would bring on a mess of problems with both her career and custody arrangement with Michael.

Just as Britt offered to help Willow do damage control, Chase arrived. He told Willow that he was sure Tracy, Michael, and Brook Lynn were behind the article — and said he knew exactly how they could fight back.

Family Circle

At the hospital, Jordan informed Curtis that Michael got her an assessment at the Baden-Baden clinic. She needed to leave for Germany immediately, but she wasn’t comfortable leaving until Curtis was moved to a minimum-security facility. Privately recalling his deal with Willow (to give her Sonny in exchange for a full pardon), Curtis encouraged Jordan to focus on herself and embrace the opportunity for the facial reconstruction.

With Curtis’s blessing, Jordan went to Michael and told him she was ready to go to Germany. Meanwhile, Monet dropped by G.H. to see Curtis again and told him she’d found strong grounds for an appeal based on errors in the instructions the judge gave to the jury.

Monet convinced Curtis to hire her as his new attorney, and after they shook hands on the arrangement, she shocked Curtis with the casual mention of her connection to Jordan. “You know, there is just one more thing. I’m sure it’s not an issue,” Monet purred. “Jordan’s my sister.”

Pop Star

Sonny was expecting a visit with Avery, but instead, Ava showed up alone. She informed him that because of what happened at Pentonville, she was keeping him away from their impressionable teenage daughter. Maintaining he wasn’t responsible for Curtis and Sidwell’s beatings, Sonny agreed to let the one visit slide for Avery’s sake but warned Ava not to try to keep him from his daughter again.

A short while later, Carly dropped off Donna. She assured her ex that she didn’t believe he was responsible for the hit on Sidwell because ordering the hit would have gone against everything Sonny was trying to achieve in going legit.

Sonny shared his disappointment that everyone else doubted him, including Dante. Since there was no direct evidence linking him to the assault, he didn’t think the PCPD had a case, but he worried about how the allegations would affect his children. He told her about Ava’s decision to keep Avery away from him and offered Carly the same out, but she was firm in her support.

After Carly left, Sonny explained to Donna that she might hear lies about him at school. Father and daughter shared a sweet moment as Donna professed that she’d always believe him because he was the best father.

Can Willow wriggle out of this one, or is she going down for what she did to Drew? Did Carly’s faith in Sonny please you? Let us know what you thought about the latest episode of GH in the comments below!
