General Hospital Recap: Jason Moves to Protect Rocco as Marco Faces Life-or-Death Surgery
On General Hospital on Tuesday, March 24, several lives hung in the balance — both literally and figuratively! Lucas (Van Hansis) performed emergency surgery on Cullum (Andrew Hawkes), unaware that Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) and Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) were simultaneously operating on Marco (Adrian Anchondo); Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) received distressing news from Portia (Brook Kerr); Jason (Steve Burton) refused to tell Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) what went down on Pier 55; Nathan (Ryan Paevey) delivered Rocco (Finn Carr) to Lulu (Alexa Havins); Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) called Charlotte (Bluesy Burke) for help; and a guilty Carly (Laura Wright) lashed out at Valentin (James Patrick Stuart). Get the scoop on all the action below.
Cover Up
On Pier 55, as Cullum and Jason fought, the gun slid close to where Rocco was hiding behind the wall. Then, just as Cullum was about to hit a fallen Jason with a retractable cane, Rocco shot the WSB director! Seconds later, Nathan arrived at the pier to see Britt and Cullum on the ground, and Jason standing opposite Rocco, who was still holding the pistol.
Nathan warned Jason notice that patrol cars were two minutes out, so Jason turned to Rocco, took the gun, and asked if anybody knew he was there. Terrified, Rocco shook his head. Once Jason determined that Britt still had a pulse, he promised Nathan he’d take care of her and asked the detective to get Rocco out of there. After wiping off the gun, Jason fired the weapon over the water to ensure that his fingerprints would be on it instead of Rocco’s. Then, as sirens approached in the background, Jason roused Britt awake and tried to tell his disoriented girlfriend to tell the police that she saw him shoot Cullum. Dante arrived and cuffed Jason, but when he asked Britt who’d shot Cullum, she was too confused to answer. After instructing the other officers to take Britt to G.H., Dante hauled Jason down to the station.

Come Into The Light
Over at Miller & Davis, Danny wanted to go to the PCPD to wait for news about his dad, but Alexis hoped to get a copy of the WSB’s warrant so they knew what Jason was up against. Turning on the light in her office, Alexis and Danny were horrified to find Marco clinging to life on the floor. As Alexis tried to stop Marco’s bleeding, Danny called 9-1-1, but Marco lost consciousness before Chase and the paramedics arrived. As the paramedics worked on Marco, Danny called Charlotte to pick him up and sneaked out. Once the EMTs got a faint pulse, they transported Marco to the hospital, and Chase took Alexis’s statement, but she didn’t have much information to share. Later, Chase learned that the PCPD had Jason in custody, and Alexis realized that Danny was gone.
Once Charlotte picked him up, Danny filled her in on the night’s happenings and asked her to take him to Sonny’s house. Declaring that the police would expect Danny to go to Sonny for help, Charlotte said that she knew someone else who could help him.

Silent Treatment
Nathan took a still shell-shocked Rocco back to Lulu’s house and asked if anyone had known he was at the pier, promising the teen that he wanted to help. Before Rocco could answer, Lulu opened the door and demanded to know what had happened. Once Nathan confirmed that Lulu had been alone for most of the night, he explained that Rocco had been involved in the shooting of a WSB agent — but as long as they did what he said and Lulu never told Dante, nobody would ever have to know. Nathan said he had to get to the station to get ahead of the situation, but promised to return as soon as he could to give Lulu the details. After Nathan left, Lulu patched up her son’s hand and tried to get him to talk about what went down, but Rocco wouldn’t speak.
At the PCPD, Dante handed over Jason’s pistol to one of the officers to run ballistics and fingerprints. Wanting to do everything by the book, Dante also asked for a paramedic to look at Jason’s hand, then read Jason his Miranda rights. Next, he brought Jason into the interrogation room, but Jason remained silent as Dante questioned him about why he had resisted arrest and attacked him. Dante even brought up their tangled family connection and how their sons were practically brothers, but Jason remained tight-lipped. Next, Nathan entered the interrogation room, and Dante stood up to leave, telling Jason on his way out that if Cullum died, he’d never see the light of day again.

Regrets, I Have A Few
Valentin gave Carly a hard time about tossing his food away and joked that just because she regretted sleeping together didn’t mean she had to let him starve. Carly countered that what she regretted was letting Jack into her life to begin with, because then he never would have recruited Josslyn into the WSB. Valentin assured her that she couldn’t have known it would turn out that way, but she still blamed herself for introducing her daughter to a world that produced people like him and Jack.
Valentin was offended by the comparison, and when she replied that they were both trained spies and manipulators, he insisted that, as a father, he never would put her daughter in jeopardy the way Jack had. Carly cried that she didn’t trust herself, based on her horrible track record with men. Valentin rattled off all the ways he’s been her partner in their endeavor to bring down Jack. Adding that Jason vowed to hunt him down if anything happened to Carly, Valentin said his only chance at reuniting with Charlotte was to keep Carly safe. As he was about to return to the attic, Carly called after him and said that she believed he’d get her through the situation — and not because of Jason.

Surgical Precision
At G.H., Lucas told Elizabeth that he and Marco were finally moving out of Wyndemere. She was happy they’d worked things out, and Lucas declared that Marco was “the one.” Later, Liz informed Lucas that WSB Director Cullum was being brought in for surgery after an incident at Pier 55. Concerned about Britt, Lucas headed to the OR and tried to get in touch with Marco on the way, but ended up leaving his boyfriend a voicemail.
In a trauma room, Britt thought about how close she and Jason had come to leaving town. Portia came in to examine her and ordered a CT scan, worried Britt might have a concussion. Meanwhile, when the paramedics brought Marco in, Isaiah announced that he wouldn’t make it to the OR and they’d have to do surgery in a trauma room. As Isaiah and Elizabeth operated on Marco in the ER, Lucas operated on Cullum upstairs. After Portia relayed that her CT was clear, Britt asked to speak with Lucas. When Portia informed her that Dr. Jones was operating on the WSB agent who’d been shot, Britt asked Portia to get her in touch with Marco, so Portia had to break the news that he was also in surgery, being treated for multiple stab wounds.

Will Marco and Cullum both survive surgery — or will neither of them? Should Rocco tell his mother what he did? Do you think Nathan and Jason will work together to protect Dante’s son? Share your predictions and theories about what will happen next on GH in the comments below.
