General Hospital Recap: Ethan Admits He’s Phoebe’s Father
On the Thursday, June 4, episode of General Hospital, Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) fumed over Chase’s (Josh Swickard) latest interaction with Willow (Katelyn MacMullen); Ethan (Nathan Dean) came clean with Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) about Delilah (Lily Cardone); Sonny (Maurice Benard), Laura (Genie Francis), and Lucas (Van Hansis) put the pressure on Pascal (Marc Forget); Nina (Cynthia Watros) and Willow’s conversation raised a red flag to Drew (Cameron Mathison); Cassius (Ryan Paevey) pleaded with Sidwell (Carlo Rota) to spare Josslyn’s (Eden McCoy) life and more! Here’s everything that happened.
The Seduction
As Brook Lynn vented to Michael about how Willow has been intruding on her marriage by constantly turning to Chase, Tracy ripped into Chase, accusing him of cheating on Brook Lynn with Willow. Chase defended himself against the perceived inappropriate behavior, but Tracy wouldn’t let it go, so he called Brook Lynn to join them at the boathouse. Once his wife arrived, Chase invited Tracy to tell Brook Lynn what she saw, knowing nothing had happened.
Tracy stammered uncomfortably as she recounted the compromising position she’d caught Chase and Willow in and urged her granddaughter to leave Chase because it was just a matter of time before he cheated. After Tracy left, Chase told Brook Lynn his side of the story: He and Willow just happened to run into each other and got to talking, and Tracy had twisted the situation. The couple argued over Brook Lynn’s belief that Willow had feelings for Chase, with Chase insisting that Willow has been nothing but kind to them. Willow even offered him the position of her Chief of Staff because she felt bad that he wasn’t a detective anymore, Chase blurted out. Although Brook Lynn pretended that the job offer didn’t bother her and assured Chase that they’d smoothed over the misunderstanding with Willow, she was secretly furious.
Meanwhile, Michael called his P.I., Elaine, requesting that she get something more incriminating on Willow and Chase. Tracy then told Michael how she’d caught Willow seducing Chase and hoped that she could convince Brook Lynn to leave Chase before it was too late. Michael suggested Tracy take a hands-off approach and let Brook Lynn figure out for herself that she was too good for Chase.
Who’s Your Daddy
Alexis confronted Ethan with the photo of him and Delilah that she got from Apollo, Delilah’s former boss in New York. When Alexis asked if he was Phoebe’s father, Ethan told her that they’d hooked up once and were supposed to meet in Port Charles to discuss her pregnancy, but Delilah passed away before that happened. Ethan claimed that he wasn’t interested in being a father and thought Phoebe would be better off with Chase and Brook Lynn.
Alexis didn’t want to keep the truth from her clients, but Ethan was determined to keep his connection to Phoebe a secret. Eventually, he convinced her to let him sign away his parental rights in a closed adoption — but Alexis warned him that there was someone else who might suspect that he was Phoebe’s father: Ava.
Permanent Vacation
After saving Pascal from his “car trouble,” Sonny brought him to the Corinthos Coffee warehouse, where Laura and Lucas were waiting. Pascal realized that Lucas had set him up (by making Sidwell think he’d killed Marco), and the trio explained that they wanted his help to bring down Sidwell. If Pascal retrieved the photographs from Dalton’s murder that Sidwell was using to blackmail Sonny and Laura, Sonny would help him flee the country.
Certain that Sidwell would kill him if he returned to Wyndemere, Pascal insisted he couldn’t get the images, which were in a locked safe. Instead, he gave Lucas the combination and instructed him where to find the photographs and negatives. Then, Lucas demanded that Pascal give him back Marco’s tie, and Sonny’s bodyguard escorted the butler to the airfield. Sonny and Laura then attempted to sway Lucas from putting himself in danger by retrieving the materials, but he insisted that he needed to do it for Marco. After Lucas left for Wyndemere, Sonny told Laura that he was worried Sidwell might catch Lucas, but Laura was hopeful that Lucas was going to be able to get the evidence they needed.
Job Fair
Nina was watching Drew when Willow arrived home, practically floating after hanging out with Chase. Willow gushed about how great it was spending time with Chase, which captured Drew’s attention. After putting Drew in his room, Willow told Nina that she had offered Chase the job of chief of staff, which Nina didn’t think was a good idea. Nina pointed out that not only was Chase professionally unqualified, but the optics of Willow spending time with her ex-husband while her current husband was convalescing in a wheelchair weren’t great. Nina cautioned that any whiff of impropriety would undercut Willow’s Congressional support, and Willow realized that losing her power and influence would put her at a disadvantage in her custody agreement with Michael. Nina also worried that by working with Chase, Willow was setting herself up for heartache, but Willow insisted that she wouldn’t get hurt.
Ring Tone
Sidwell caught Josslyn as she attempted to escape Wyndemere and was about to kill her when Cassius arrived. Cassius threatened to end their partnership if Sidwell pulled the trigger. As they argued, Josslyn purposely dropped her ring onto the living room floor. Sidwell agreed to let Cassius lock Josslyn up again. Once she was back in the basement room, Cassius reminded Joss that she had to trust him because it was the only way they’d both get out of the situation alive. With the project falling apart since Britt had fled, Josslyn urged Cassius to take advantage of the situation and go to the WSB, even promising him immunity. Cassius refused, but once he exited the room, he clearly appeared to be torn about whether to take up Josslyn on the offer.
Meanwhile, Lucas returned home and found an emotional Sidwell, who was distraught at the prospect that Pascal had killed Marco. Sidwell confided that he blamed himself for not realizing Pascal was obsessed with Marco. In response, Lucas stated that he was relieved the man who was responsible for Marco’s death might finally be brought to justice.
