Comments

The October 8 episode of General Hospital was full of drama as Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) received a devastating update in her custody case, Portia (Brook Kerr) and Curtis (Donnell Turner) confronted Drew (Cameron Mathison), Chase (Josh Swickard) uncovered something shocking at the Quartermaine house, and Carly (Laura Wright) sought out help from Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). To find out what else happened, keep on reading!

Kiss And Make Up

Emma was hurt that Gio wanted to move out, but before he could give her his reasons for wanting to leave Anna’s apartment, Trina and Kai showed up at Volonino’s. As Emma filled Trina in on everything that happened after she and Gio kissed, Gio told Kai about what happened between Drew and Tracy at Monica’s memorial service. Slipping up, Kai revealed to Gio that he thought Drew was in the wrong, then later agonized about his mistake to Trina. Since the softball bat had Kai’s fingerprints on it and placed him at the scene of the crime, they agreed that he had to continue playing the part of loyal intern until the shooter was caught. On her way out of the gym, Emma asked Gio if he really was going to move out. Glum, she blamed herself for ruining everything between them by kissing him since he wasn’t into her the way she was into him. Gio lit up and revealed that he was into her! Relieved, he pulled Emma in for a tender kiss.

Hook, Line, and Sinker

Portia hid the positive pregnancy test when Curtis showed up at her office. He shared his theory that Drew no longer had his blackmail leverage over them and noted that he had a plan to suss out whether Drew had the file. Curtis added that he’d been on his way to visit the patient when Dr. Gannon stopped him, accusing him of taking advantage of her position by throwing his weight around. Portia claimed that Isaiah was just looking out for his boss in a very misguided way and told Curtis that she wanted to be there when he confronted Drew.

Meanwhile, Drew told Willow he hoped that she and Scout would move in with him once he was released from the hospital, but she was worried it would hurt her custody case. Willow got an alert from the court that a new judge had been assigned to her case, and was devastated that it wouldn’t be reviewed until mid-January. She freaked out about not seeing her kids until next year, but Drew promised that he and Martin would make sure she got custody restored before that. Their conversation was interrupted by Curtis and Portia, and Portia chastised Nurse Tait for not being at her post in the ER. A flustered Willow headed out.

Once the trio was alone, Drew demanded Portia apologize to Willow. Dr. Robinson asserted that, as the co-chief of staff, she was the one who called the shots around the hospital. She invited him to make good on his threats to destroy her career. “Do it!” she yelled. “I’m tired of living in fear!” Claiming that recovering from two gunshot wounds left him with no energy to deal with them, Drew told the Ashfords to leave his room. Once in the hallway, Curtis and Portia shared a smile. Curtis crowed, “We were right. He’s got nothing.”

Summoning Martin to his room, Drew asked for an update on the contents of his safe. Viewing the digital log Martin had received following the PCPD’s investigation, Drew noticed that the evidence he had against Portia was missing — and he’d seen it in the safe the night he was shot. Martin mused that whoever shot Drew had probably taken the envelope, leading them to conclude that the culprit was likely Curtis or Portia, since they were the only ones who knew about the blackmail material. Although Martin wanted to alert the police, Drew insisted that for Willow’s sake, Michael had to be the one to go down for his shooting.

Later, Curtis returned to Portia’s office, where she again hid the pregnancy test. Realizing that since Drew no longer had evidence against her, they could move forward with ending their union, Curtis told his wife that she could file for divorce as soon as the police made an arrest. “I guess there’s no reason for us to stay married anymore,” he stated — but Portia looked uncomfortable, her unexpected pregnancy on her mind.

True Lies

Elsewhere at the hospital, Josslyn balked at Britt’s blackmail attempt, saying that her mom would never agree to Britt staying at the Metro Court. Turning the tables, Joss pointed out that Britt had more to hide than she did, like her involvement in the shady organization working out of the Five Poppies resort. As they continued to bicker, Jack arrived and introduced himself to Britt, but she brushed him off and made a hasty retreat. Josslyn divulged that Britt was threatening to expose her WSB status, so Jack offered to take care of the situation. He then gave Josslyn her next assignment.

Later, as Willow eavesdropped, Jack approached Britt at the ER desk with questions about her time at the Five Poppies. Britt insisted she had nothing to say since she’d only been a guest at the resort, and he replied that he wouldn’t have to bring her into his office then — so long as she stopped making trouble for him and his agents. Before leaving, Jack leveled a veiled threat that if Britt was lying about her involvement in the research operation, she’d be violating several international laws and subject to life imprisonment in Steinmauer. “And believe me, Steinmauer is not a place you want to be,” he chuckled. “Just ask your mother.”

Next, Britt stopped Willow, who was leaving early to deal with a family emergency, and offered her newfound cousin support. Declaring that the only person who could help her was her MIA lawyer, Willow added that she’d seen Britt speaking with Agent Brennan earlier, and it was clear she had her own mess to deal with.

Spill the Tea

Fishing Expedition: Carly (Laura Wright, l.) hoped to get some information from Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst).ABC

Worried that she was going to be arrested, a frantic Carly visited Elizabeth, wanting to know what the nurse had told the police about the night she’d threatened to kill Drew. Over tea in the kitchen, Liz eventually shared that the PCPD had not reached out to her at all. Carly was confused, because she’d told Anna that Elizabeth was a witness. Elizabeth suggested that perhaps the police had a stronger suspect in mind, then pieced together that Carly was hoping the police would target her rather than go after Michael. Maintaining that she knew her son was innocent, Carly fretted that Drew was determined to send Michael to prison so Willow could get the kids back. Liz suggested that she have a little faith that the real culprit would be found. Next, Liz went upstairs to take a phone call, and Carly stepped into the living room and looked around. When Liz came back downstairs, Carly put her phone in her purse, then said she had to meet Jason. Once outside Elizabeth’s front door, Carly closed her eyes and exhaled deeply.

Seek and Destroy

After discovering that the search warrant had been issued with the wrong address, Ronnie wouldn’t let the police search the premises of the Quartermaine estate. Chase asked Brook Lynn who the stranger was, and she said she’d tell him later. Before retreating, Anna warned the family not to do anything that would constitute obstruction of justice. When Jason thanked his newfound aunt for coming through for the family, a confused Ronnie wanted to know which one of them was being accused of trying to assassinate a congressman. She then got the rundown of what led to Drew’s estrangement from the family and why Michael was a suspect.

Meanwhile, Michael excused himself to take a phone call, and Ned left to go to one of the family lawyers’ houses after not being able to reach him by phone. Tracy huffed that they would handle the police returning as a family and told Ronnie that she didn’t need to be there, so Ronnie said she’d go back to her motel. Jason noted that since the house now belonged to Ronnie, she should make herself at home, but Tracy again called the will bogus. Back from his phone call, Michael jumped in and stated that, as the person everyone assumed would inherit the house, he would be the one to contest the will, but he wanted to abide by his grandmother’s wishes. To Tracy’s chagrin, he declared the matter settled.

Back at the station, Anna vented to Chase about ADA Turner’s sloppy mistake in putting the wrong address on the search warrant. “Now we lost the element of surprise, and my in-laws know exactly what we’re up to,” Chase groaned. Anna added that Jason knows how to clean up evidence, and that he’d do anything to protect Michael, so Chase wondered if he should have stayed behind. But Anna didn’t want to put him in a bad position between his job and his in-laws, especially since they had to do everything by the book. Later, with a corrected search warrant in hand, Chase and Anna returned to the Quartermaines with several officers, and Chase realized that the revolver in question was missing from Edward’s collection.

Shady Behavior

After leaving his family, Jason went to the docks to meet up with Carly, but Brennan showed up instead. Meanwhile, Carly got home to find Josslyn crying. “Vaughn has been lying to me this entire time,” Joss sobbed to her mom, putting on quite a convincing show. “I just found out that he’s a WSB agent.” Michael went to Elizabeth’s house to see Willow, but his ex was still at work. Acting a bit shifty, he asked if he could come inside, but before he entered Elizabeth’s home, Michael took a look around the front of the house.
