General Hospital Recap: Carly is in Grave Danger and ‘Nathan’ Locates Rocco
There were some life-changing moments on the Friday, June 19, episode of General Hospital! Carly’s (Laura Wright) news had Jack (Chris McKenna) fearing for her safety, Rocco (Finn Carr) asked Charlotte (Bluesy Burke) and Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) to deliver a message to Nathan (Ryan Paevey) to save Britt (Kelly Thiebaud), Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Lulu (Alexa Havins) discussed what they’d do once they found their son, and Portia (Brook Kerr) and Curtis (Donnell Turner) reached a compromise on their precarious family situation just as Trina (Tabyana Ali) confided in Ava (Maura West) that she was prepared to cut her parents off! Here’s how it all went down.
Sending Out an S.O.S.
Worried that Britt’s symptoms were returning, Rocco asked Charlotte and Danny to get in touch with Nathan, hoping that Britt’s brother could get her more medicine. He gave his friends his address in the British Virgin Islands but made them promise not to share the location with anyone other than Nathan. Once he hung up, Rocco checked on Britt, who was still recovering from her collapse, and she confided that she’d hoped her Huntington’s symptoms wouldn’t be an issue so soon.
Meanwhile, Charlotte and Danny went to Nina’s to see “Nathan” and relayed Rocco’s message that Britt needed him to get her the special medication. Charlotte gave “Nathan” the contact info for Rocco’s burner phone. To protect the teens from any involvement (since Britt had technically abducted Rocco), Cassius provided them with a plausible cover story about why they had visited Nina’s house. Promising that he’d take care of things, he warned them not to call Rocco.
Shortly after Danny and Charlotte returned to the boathouse, she got another call from her brother and confirmed that they’d been in touch with Nathan. Rocco rushed off the phone when a weak Britt called out for him. When she asked who he’d been talking to, Rocco lied that it was the woman in the villa next door. Britt reminded him to keep a low profile because they couldn’t afford for anyone to find them.
One Step Closer
Dante dropped by Lulu’s house to give her an update on Rocco’s location and got into an argument with Ethan, blaming Lulu’s brother for getting Rocco the fake passport that enabled him to leave town. After Ethan stepped out to give the two privacy, Dante revealed that Brick had tracked Rocco and Britt to the British Virgin Islands but didn’t have an exact location. Lulu wanted to fly there immediately, but Dante worried that would lead Cullum to their son.
Dante said they should just wait for Brick to find Rocco’s exact location, and Lulu agreed, but voiced her hope that Rocco and Britt didn’t disappear again in the meantime. Lulu wondered what they’d do when they did find their son, and Dante proposed that the three of them go into hiding as she’d originally planned — and he’d make sure that Britt faced charges for leaving the country with the teen. Later, “Nathan” showed up and informed Dante and Lulu that he knew where Britt and Rocco were.
Permanent Vacation
Visiting Jack at Turning Woods, Carly told her ex that Valentin went to see Z at the WSB. She explained that not only did they suspect that Cullum had recruited Obrecht to finish the cold fusion prototype, but she’d found proof that Josslyn was being held captive at Wyndemere. Jack was glad that Valentin had done the right thing by going to Geneva, but was alarmed when Carly added that Cullum had shown up at her house with a warrant looking for Val. She further explained that Valentin had twice used a burner phone to call the French clinic and check on Anna, which was how she believed Cullum had linked her to Valentin. Proclaiming that she was now in the same danger as Valentin, Jack advised Carly to leave Port Charles until Cullum was neutralized — or she might wind up dead.
Stories I Tell
Earlier, Felicia stopped by Nina’s condo to chat with “Nathan,” wondering if he’d stepped back from seeing James lately because of the way she’d reacted when he began dating Lulu. Knowing that he’d let James down when his true identity inevitably came to light, Cassius offered a half-truth: James’s home was with Maxie and Spinelli and the rest of the Scorpio family, and he didn’t want to intrude on those relationships.
Felicia encouraged “Nathan” not to put distance between himself and his son, stating that James loved and needed him. Marveling at the strong bond he and James formed in such a short time, Cassius confided that the boy made him want to be a better man. Deciding to take Felicia’s advice, “Nathan” offered to take James to the batting cages the following week. But when Felicia hugged him on her way out, Cassius was consumed with guilt.
Drawing a Line
Trina filled her boss in on the fight that went down between her parents at the baby shower after Ava left. Acknowledging that Kai was correct all the times he’d said that her relationship with her parents was unhealthy, Trina declared that she was going to stop playing peacemaker and needed to walk away from her parents so she could focus on her own life.
Ava noted that she’d been similarly cut out by her daughter, the late Kiki, and assured Trina that she was doing the right thing by setting boundaries. But Ava suggested that Trina have a conversation with her parents about her decision rather than cutting them off with no explanation. After Trina left the gallery, Ethan arrived and told Ava that Sonny wanted to see her right away.
Over at Portia’s house, she and Curtis decided that since they were both getting the silent treatment from Trina, they’d set aside their animosity and be civil toward one another for the sake of their children. Because they had a fundamental difference of opinion regarding Isaiah’s supposed involvement in Jordan’s accident, they also agreed not to force blending the family and not to include their significant others when they needed to spend time together.
In light of their new compromise, Portia invited Curtis to join her at her next ultrasound appointment. But as she walked Curtis out, Portia opened the door to find Trina on the other side — determined to set her new boundaries with her parents.
