General Hospital Recap: Brook Lynn is Busted as Willow’s Plan for Drew Unravels
On Thursday, July 9, on General Hospital Lucy (Lynn Herring) inadvertently clued in Chase (Josh Swickard) that Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) was framing Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), Sidwell (Carlo Rota) threatened Jordan (Tanisha Harper), Martin (Michael E. Knight) considered representing Curtis (Donnell Turner) in court, Jack (Chris McKenna) was the bearer of bad news, and Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Justine (Nazneen Contractor) came to an understanding about their relationship. Here’s how it all went down.
Freeze Frame
At the Metro Court pool, Lucy chatted on the phone with her daughter, Serena, then fielded questions from Chase about the statement she’d given the PCPD about Willow. Chase was initially convinced that Michael had put Lucy up to it, but when Lucy revealed she’d been at the Quartermaines’ that night with Brook Lynn (prior to the grand reopening of Charlie’s Pub), he began to suspect that his wife was responsible for Lucy implicating Willow.
Chase’s hunch was essentially confirmed when Lucy casually mentioned that she and Brook Lynn had agreed that, with the chaos surrounding Deception ever since Maxie’s collapse, it was best for Lucy to be in control, so Brook Lynn had transferred half of her shares.

Across this, Tracy confronted her granddaughter with the same suspicion. Defending her actions, Brook Lynn argued that she’d only wanted to make Willow look bad in Chase’s eyes and not cause her any legal trouble. But when Brook Lynn mentioned that it had been Lucy’s idea, Tracy questioned why her granddaughter hadn’t come to her for help.
Replying that Tracy would have told her to leave Chase, Brook Lynn added that she loved her husband and was fighting for her family. Tracy asked what Lucy had demanded in return for the help and was hurt to learn that Brook Lynn had signed over half her Deception shares — shares Tracy had gifted to Brook Lynn because she wanted them to run the company together. “I just hope this house of cards you’ve built does not come crashing down on top of you,” Tracy warned.

House of Horrors
Lucas was still recovering from his hangover at Elizabeth’s house when she checked in at work and learned that Brennan had been released from Turning Woods. They thought it was odd that Jack recovered so quickly from his stroke and locked-in syndrome while Drew hadn’t made any progress with the same ailment.
Liz wondered if there was an environmental reason in the house that caused Drew, who was being cared for at home, to stall. Even though it was a reach, Lucas thought they should notify the county, and Liz decided to share her theory with Willow.

Desperation Station
Willow comforted her mother over Cassius’s death as Nina struggled to reconcile his lies about being Nathan. As their conversation turned to the situation with Drew, Willow fretted that her husband was regaining mobility and she was almost out of the paralytic.
Hoping that Jack would give them the proof that Drew had misappropriated federal funds, they called him over to the house. But when Jack arrived, he broke the bad news that the black box, where he’d been holding the evidence, was missing from his office, and he believed Cullum had moved it. Willow wondered how she was supposed to stop Drew from turning her and Nina in with no leverage and no more paralytic. Jack speculated that Cullum might have moved the black box to Spoon Island, wanting to keep it close by.

Next, Elizabeth rang the doorbell and was surprised to see Chief Brennan meeting with Nina and Willow. “I’m just shocked to see you standing,” Liz said. “Especially here.”
Risky Business
Before he agreed to represent Curtis, Martin wanted to go over the details of the assault case. Curtis emphasized that he wasn’t going to take the plea deal because he needed to go to trial and secure a not-guilty verdict. Martin, however, warned that there was no guarantee a judge would consider the provocation argument Curtis was hoping to make.
In the end, Martin figured that Curtis’s story would be compelling to a jury, especially if they could put Jordan on the stand, but it was a huge gamble. Curtis was willing to take the risk because he could not spend the first months of his baby’s life in prison.

An Eye For An Eye
Sidwell requested a meeting with Jordan at the PCPD. He wanted to know why she’d given the police the location of his safe house, so Jordan confessed that she’d been undercover the entire time she worked for SRE Worldwide, trying to gather evidence against him. Jenz admitted he’d been suspicious of her at first, but Jordan won him over, and he saw the value in her being the pretty, public face of his criminal enterprise.
Despite her betrayal, Sidwell offered to pay for surgery at the same German clinic that had treated Michael if Jordan went to Zurich and emptied some bank accounts for him. But when she passed on the offer, a furious Sidwell threatened that he’d find a way to pay Jordan back — making her suffer and regret turning him down.

The Real Deal
In their secret hideaway above Charlie’s, Justine and Sonny wondered if anyone noticed they’d kissed at the Jerome Gallery. Justine worried that Sidwell had picked up on something when Sonny called her “Justine” on the phone, then rushed to the gallery to save her.
Then, when Justine shared that she’d offered the case to Molly because she was technically one of Sidwell’s victims, Sonny pointed out that Sidwell might go after his niece to get to him. Justine sighed that she couldn’t be perceived as giving his family any “special treatment” and that removing Molly from the case would be seen as that. She shouldn’t even be seen speaking with him, Justine added.

At that, Sonny questioned if she was ending things. Justine confided that while their relationship had started as a dare, what happened at the gallery proved that what they had was real. Sonny admitted the relationship took him by surprise as well, and they vowed that they didn’t want to lose each other.
