General Hospital Recap: Britt Moves to Protect Rocco, Josslyn Grills Lulu About Nathan
On the Wednesday, April 22, episode of General Hospital, Gio (Giovanni Mazza) planned a surprise getaway for Emma (Braedyn Bruener), Josslyn (Eden McCoy) covertly pumped Lulu (Alexa Havins) for information, “Nathan” (Ryan Paevey) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) got a lead in one of their investigations, an emotional Jordan (Tanisha Harper) opened up to Curtis (Donnell Turner) about her fears for her future, and Rocco’s (Finn Carr) confession about what he saw on Pier 55 left Britt (Kelly Theibaud) very worried about the teen. Keep on reading for the breakdown.
Broadway Bound
Meeting up with Emma at Bad Jen Café, Gio surprised his girlfriend with the news that he was whisking her off to New York City the following morning. He’d been invited by his friend, Michael James Scott — who plays Genie in Aladdin on Broadway — to go see the show and take a backstage tour. When Gio explained that he’d been friends with the actor ever since he’d filled in as a violinist in the musical’s orchestra, Emma was shocked that her boyfriend had never told her that. Gio also wanted to take Emma exploring around the city, but revealed he wasn’t yet ready to visit his family in Bensonhurst.

Cryptic Questions
While cleaning up for the night at Bobbie’s, Josslyn flashed back to seeing “Nathan” exiting Cullum’s hospital room. When Lulu entered to pick up dessert, Joss took the opportunity to question her cousin about Nathan. She casually brought up how sore she was after working out with Nathan at the gym, and how she feared she made things awkward by asking him about Cesar Faison. As talk of Nathan’s family eventually turned to Britt, Lulu divulged that Rocco wanted a relationship with the woman who’d birthed him, and that scared her because everyone close to the doctor winds up getting hurt. What Lulu didn’t share, of course, was that Rocco had shot Cullum to save Britt and Jason’s lives.
Lulu lamented that Rocco always dismissed her when she tried to tell him how dangerous Britt is and frowned that Britt only looks out for herself. Joss wondered if Nathan could convince Britt to keep her distance from Rocco, but Lulu shrugged that the siblings weren’t that close; they’d only begun to get to know one another when Faison shot Nathan, and they haven’t seemed interested in hanging out now that Nathan is back in town. Her suspicions growing, Joss marveled at how amazing it was that Nathan was stepping back into his life so easily after being gone for seven years.

Pals Before Gals
In Dante’s office, “Nathan” updated the acting commissioner that he’d noticed paint on the guardrail opposite where Jordan and Curtis crashed, and he was having forensics test a sample. Relieved that there was finally a lead, Dante told “Nathan” that acting D.A. Turner was insisting that the other driver be found and prosecuted. Next, they discussed the investigation into Marco’s murder. “Nathan” confirmed that the victim’s cell phone was still missing, but phone records showed that Marco hadn’t made any calls around the time he was killed — and since he’d used an app that encrypted text messages, there were no records of those communications. Dante was certain that the missing cell phone indicated that Marco knew who his killer was.
Next, Dante told “Nathan” he didn’t have to stick around and wait for the forensics report on the vehicle, but “Nathan” said it was fine, he just had to make a call. Dante assured him it was okay to say Lulu’s name, and “Nathan” acknowledged that he’d begun to realize he betrayed their friendship by getting together with Dante’s ex-wife. Dante insisted he was okay with “Nathan” dating Lulu — they’d always be connected through Rocco, the same way that “Nathan” and Maxie are forever connected through James, but he’d moved on after their marriage ended, and didn’t want her and “Nathan” to deny their feelings to spare him. When his friend kept pressing the issue, Dante swore he wanted “Nathan” and Lulu to be happy and declared that they didn’t have to talk about it any further. “Nathan” then got a call from forensics and after he hung up, he told Dante that there was news about the paint on the guardrail.

Prime Suspect
At G.H., Curtis lashed out at Isaiah, ordering him to leave Jordan alone as she recovered. Over in the Cardiac Care Center atrium, Jordan and Portia’s confrontation continued, with an overwhelmed Jordan snapping at Portia to save her phony sympathy. Portia acknowledged that she didn’t like Jordan and they would never be friends, but said her sympathy was legitimate and that Jordan needed to let people, namely Curtis, help her while her body healed. Jordan insisted she was fine, and Portia asked her to consider putting aside their mutual distrust since they were going to be in each other’s lives because of the baby.
Once Portia and Isaiah met up, he relayed how angry Curtis was that he’d visited Jordan. Portia hoped the aftermath of the car accident didn’t undo the progress she and Curtis had made in bringing the family together. She decided that she’d keep her distance from the other woman out of respect for what Curtis and Jordan were going through. Then, Isaiah asked Portia to spend the night at his cabin. She wanted to know if his private patient would need another house call, and he replied that the patient was on the mend.
Meanwhile, Curtis tracked down Jordan in the atrium to check on her, even though she’d previously told him she needed space. Asking him to stay, she opened up that she felt self-conscious and damaged due to her facial injury and was afraid she’d never look like herself again. When Curtis vowed to stand by her side, Jordan tearfully offered him an out in their relationship if things got too difficult, but he declared they’d get through anything. Asking Curtis for a hug, Jordan broke down in his arms. Then, Curtis got a phone call from Dante, who shared that the PCPD had a lead on the vehicle that fled the scene of the accident: A paint sample from the guardrail matched a black German-made car. As he hung up, Curtis realized that Isaiah drove a black SUV and suspected that Portia’s boyfriend might have been the other driver.

In Too Deep
In the chapel at G.H., Britt was horrified when Rocco spilled that he was the one who shot Cullum. She was touched that the teen had followed her to Pier 55 that night because he’d been worried about her. Rocco told her how, from his hiding spot, he’d seen her meet with Lucas (but had been too far away to hear what they were talking about) and was about to leave when Agent Cullum showed up. Swearing that Cullum hadn’t seen him, Rocco continued that he saw the agent smash the item that Britt had handed over, and their struggle for the gun. He apologized for freezing and not coming to her rescue when she went down, but Britt was relieved that he’d stayed hidden. Continuing his story, Rocco detailed that just as Cullum was about to shoot her, Jason showed up and as the men fought. When Cullum knocked Jason down and then pulled out a baton, Rocco knew the agent was going to kill Jason first, then Britt. Noticing the gun on the ground not far from where he was, Rocco grabbed it and shot Cullum in the back. He revealed that was how he’d hurt his hand, since he’d never held a gun before and was handling it wrong.
Now that she had the missing pieces, Britt realized that when she’d come to and seen Jason with the gun, he’d told her to say that he had shot Cullum because he was protecting Rocco. Britt felt horrible that Rocco had been scared and had kept the secret to himself, but her horror returned when he shared that Nathan had taken him home and covered it up. Rocco reported that Lulu was the only other person who knew what happened. An exasperated Rocco wanted to turn Cullum in, but Britt countered that Cullum was above the low. She implored him not to tell anyone else, because Cullum would kill them both if he ever discovered the truth. Britt promised that she’d protect him and could take care of herself, but Rocco still worried that she’d be in danger. With a sad smile, Britt said that she appreciated that, then dismissed Rocco by telling him goodnight.

After Rocco left the chapel, a heavyhearted Britt realized she had no choice but to play ball with Sidwell and Cullum if she wanted to keep Rocco safe. She made a phone call and requested that the launch to Spoon Island be ready for her, saying that she had work to do.
