General Hospital Recap: Brennan Busts Carly and Cassius Corners Josslyn!
The Friday, May 1, episode of General Hospital was full of confrontations and freak-outs. Cassius (Ryan Paevey) cornered Josslyn (Eden McCoy), Brick (Stephen A. Smith) paid Jordan (Tanisha Harper) a visit, Sonny (Maurice Benard) had an update for Britt (Kelly Thiebaud), Jack (Chris McKenna) nearly caught Carly (Laura Wright) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) in bed together, Trina’s (Tabyana Ali) friends urged her to take her singing to the next level, Molly (Kristen Vaganos) received good news from Cody (Josh Kelly), and Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) freaked out as Chase (Josh Swickard) and Curtis (Donnell Turner) discussed the car accident. Here’s everything that happened.
Business As Usual
Cassius was furious that Britt had known since the Five Poppies that Josslyn was a WSB agent and never said anything to him. Begging him not to expose Josslyn because she wasn’t a threat to them, Britt pointed out that she’d had been asking about their father, not necessarily him. Recalling the odd questions Josslyn had posed to him at the gym, Cassius was convinced that she suspected something was off about him. Britt advised Cassius to avoid Josslyn and continue pretending he was Nathan and fretted that they were so close to completing the project and couldn’t let Josslyn screw it up for them. Cassius proclaimed that she wouldn’t.
The Jig Is Up
Josslyn completely forgot that Gio’s friend, Michael James Scott, was performing at The Savoy until Trina mentioned it. Claiming she had to study for finals, Joss promised to meet up with the group later, and Trina headed to the club. However, before Josslyn could leave to do further sleuthing about “Nathan,” the man himself showed up.
“Nathan” asked if she still wanted to be workout partners and Josslyn apologized profusely for having made things awkward at the gym when she’d brought up Faison. Joss told him that she’d spoken to Nina about him and his sister had thought she had a crush on him. She added that she was happy for him and Lulu but surprised that he hadn’t reunited with Maxie, considering their history. “Nathan” replied that they’d both moved on but had many good memories.
Testing him, Josslyn mentioned that Nina had told her the story about the Fourth of July he and Maxie spent handcuffed together and how that’s when he began looking at Maxie differently. It was clear that “Nathan” didn’t remember the occasion, but Joss brushed it off, saying she was glad that “Nathan” still wanted to work out together, but she wanted to go for her run before it got too late. As she headed for the door, Cassius grabbed her arm and declared, “It’s already too late.”
High Spirits
Curtis offered to skip going to The Savoy, but Jordan convinced him to go for Trina’s sake. After he left, she was feeling a little down, but a visit from her self-declared “not-so-secret admirer,” Brick, who came bearing flowers, managed to cheer her up. He even got her to laugh by sharing a story about one of his recent adventures. Then, Brick offered to whisk her off on a tropical vacation once she was out of the hospital, but Jordan reminded him that she had gotten serious with Curtis. Brick had to leave when he got a work call, but he left Jordan with a pep talk about his faith in her recovery that had her smiling.
Truth-Adjacent
Jack accused Sonny of pressuring Carly to leave him, but Sonny chuckled that anything going south in their relationship had nothing to do with him. Attempting to backtrack, Jack proclaimed that he never said he and Carly were having problems, but Sonny called him out on thinking Carly was lying to him about something. Jack claimed he was just concerned because Carly had been having a hard time ever since Jason was arrested, so Sonny took the opportunity to point out that Jason never would have shot Director Cullum without a good reason. Britt identifying Jason as Cullum’s shooter was enough for the WSB to put him away for life, Jack stated, but Sonny shouted that his friend deserved a fair trial. “Yeah, I wouldn’t count on that,” Jack replied before exiting.
After his conversation with Jack, Sonny dropped by Britt’s office and informed her that he’d gotten Jason’s location (a WSB black site in Jakarta) from Brennan. He questioned Britt about the shooting at the pier, noting that it was messier than Jason’s typical MO. Keeping quiet about Rocco, Britt allowed Sonny to believe Jason had been protecting her. Sonny promised to look out for Britt and offered his help if she ever needed it.
Driving Force
Revelers at The Savoy buzzed in anticipation of Michael James Scott’s performance. As Chase thanked Gio for inviting him and Brook Lynn, Brook Lynn and Gio shared a heartwarming moment when he filled her in on his and Emma’s trip to New York City, and she told him how proud the family had been of him the summer he played in Aladdin. Brook Lynn grew jumpy when Chase, Cody, and Molly spoke about the investigation into Jordan’s accident, and Chase wondered if the other driver didn’t stop because they had something to hide. Snapping, Brook Lynn asked if they could stop talking about the accident, covering her outburst by reminding everyone that they were there to have fun.
Later, Trina crossed paths with Cody and Brook Lynn, who repeated the offer to connect Trina with music execs. Promising to think about it, Trina walked away and told Kai, Gio, and Emma about Brook Lynn’s offer. They encouraged her to explore a music career. Meanwhile, Cody wondered why Brook Lynn had her “Camp Martha look,” saying she looked the same way she did when she asked him to drive her to the bus stop all those years ago when she was secretly pregnant with Gio. Brook Lynn insisted she was just tired and worried about Phoebe. Cody reminded her she could talk to him about anything.
Curtis approached Brook Lynn and she got antsy when he declared that he was counting on the PCPD to find the other driver. But she really began to sweat when Curtis bemoaned that Jordan could have died because of the time wasted since the other driver didn’t bother to stop and check on them.
After getting an update from Curtis on Jordan, Cody and Molly discussed her long relationship with TJ. She lamented that things had become awkward with Jordan following the breakup, so Cody suggested Molly reach out to TJ’s mom. Then, Molly got an email from her editor about book tour dates and was thrilled that Cody planned to join her in her travels.
Caught Red-Handed
At her place, Carly and Valentin flirted as he cooked dinner, but their sparring over his calling the clinic to check up on Anna devolved into a full-blown fight over the lack of progress in their plan to bring down Jack. Valentin stomped upstairs to the attic, but neither could deny their attraction and sought one another out. After admitting they were scared of what lay ahead, Carly and Valentin made love again.
Meanwhile, Jack concluded from his conversation with Sonny that Carly wasn’t having an affair with her ex, but he was still suspicious of his girlfriend. Breaking into Carly’s house, Jack noticed the messy kitchen (and the two wine glasses Carly and Valentin had left behind) and stormed upstairs. Bursting into the bedroom, Jack found Carly alone in bed but spotted another man’s clothing. “Where is he?” he seethed.
