General Hospital Recap: Ava and Drew Framed Sonny for Pentonville Attack!
The Wednesday, September 30, episode of General Hospital revealed who was really behind the attack at Pentonville: Ava (Maura West) and Drew (Cameron Mathison)! Meanwhile, Sonny (Maurice Benard) grilled Jason (Steve Burton), Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) and Rocco (Finn Carr) came to blows, Michael Rory Gibson) had big news for Jordan (Tanisha Harper), Scout (Kayden Brenna Tokarski) overheard a suspicious conversation, and more. Here’s everything that happened.
User Error
Drew told Ava that her idea to pin Sidwell’s attack on Sonny (which he had approved and bankrolled) had worked. Ava was horrified when Drew added that Curtis had been caught up in the altercation. Although neither of them wanted Curtis to be hurt, Drew pointed out the upside: they now had a trustworthy witness to cast doubt on Sonny’s newfound legitimacy.
Ava was disgusted that Drew was practically gleeful while Curtis was seriously injured, and she worried Trina would discover she’d been responsible for what happened to her dad. Drew swore he’d make it up to Curtis and their names would never be attached to the attack.
Vito showed up, and Ava and Drew informed him that his inside man made a huge mistake by hurting their friend and ordered him to leave town.
Feeling Punchy
After Danny blamed Rocco for being the reason Charlotte was sent to boarding school, Rocco ripped into him about all the illegal and reckless things he and Charlotte had done over the past few months. He spat that Lulu had been right to send his sister to boarding school to get her away from Danny. “And if your mom was alive, she would send you away too!” he roared.
At that, Danny punched Rocco, leading to a full-on brawl. “Stay away from me and everyone in my family. And don’t you ever mention my mom again!” Danny shouted before taking off. Alone on the dock, Rocco nursed his wounds and flashed back to his first kiss with Scout, hoping that the fight hadn’t ruined things.
Defense Strategy
Molly sought advice from Michael, afraid she’d been wrong to ask Scout to keep Charlotte’s stunt a secret from Drew. Michael told Molly to stop feeling guilty; Drew wasn’t a normal father or human being, and Molly had been protecting Scout’s relationship with Danny and the rest of the family.
Opposite this, Scout was upset to learn from Alexis that there were no legal ramifications for what Charlotte tried to do to Drew. With kid gloves, Alexis told her granddaughter that Charlotte hadn’t been malicious but was trying to solve a problem created by Scout’s father. Scout hissed that Alexis would take anyone else’s side because she hated Drew and stomped out. Later, Alexis and Molly worried that Scout would tell Drew about the incident, giving him more ammunition to cut them all out of Scout’s life for good.
Meanwhile, Scout FaceTimed Rocco, but he declined it so she wouldn’t see his bloody nose. She was outside her house when he phoned her back, and she tearfully told him about her fight with Alexis and cried that nobody else could see the good guy her father was. Hearing movement at the front door, Scout hid behind the wall as Drew, Ava, and Vito stepped outside. Peering around the corner, Scout saw Vito assuring the others that their business dealings were done, and he’d get out of town for good.
Wrongfully Accused
Sonny and Ric called Jason over to make sure he hadn’t ordered the assault at Pentonville. They reasoned that either there was a miscommunication between Vito and Sully, or Vito betrayed Sonny. Sonny was determined to figure out who got Vito to turn on him, and asked Ric to convince Curtis to recant his statement and deliver the message that he’d make whoever was responsible for framing him pay.
Alone with Jason, Sonny fretted that Dante, Laura, and others would now view him as a liar after he’d said he was getting out of the lifestyle. A beaten-up Danny showed up and told Jason and Sonny about his fight with Rocco. Jason and Sonny urged Danny not to throw away his friendship with Rocco, but Danny declared they were done for good.
Hard Pass
Curtis explained to Jordan how he’d been collateral damage in a beating Sonny had ordered on Sidwell. Furious that Sonny hadn’t changed after all, Jordan was determined to move Curtis to Spring Ridge, a minimum-security prison, to keep him safe. She vowed Sonny would pay for what he did, but Curtis worried that it was his word against his assailants, and there was no way to prove Sonny was behind the attack.
Ric stopped by and insisted his brother hadn’t ordered the attack. While they looked into the situation to make whoever was responsible pay, Ric suggested it would be helpful if they weren’t “hindered by the PCPD’s misguided investigation.” Refusing to cover for Sonny, Curtis spat that there was no way in hell he’d retract his statement.
Facial Recognition
Back at the Aurora office, Jordan told Michael that Curtis was badly injured and Sonny was responsible. Not understanding why his father would order an attack on Sidwell or involve Curtis, Michael felt something was off and said he would speak with Sonny. Then, acknowledging the bad timing with everything she was dealing with, he told Jordan there was an opening at the Baden-Baden clinic in Germany for Dr. Muller to remove her scars the following week.
