A rattled Carrie talked to Lucas about the HighStyle situation. She wondered if there was something she could do to save the company. Lucas offered to help Carrie with Titan’s resources but she said she couldn’t accept it. He suggested Titan invest in HighStyle to halt the takeover. Carrie was overwhelmed, but declined his offer, insisting she had to do this herself. Lucas said he wanted to be there for her as a friend. She said that was okay, as long as he wasn’t expecting anything more from her. Becky called Carrie. When Carrie hung up, she told Lucas he didn’t have to come to L.A. with her — the company was gone. Carrie checked her e-mails and found scathing ones from upset employees.
Austin told Sami he wanted to go to L.A. with Carrie. Sami suggested he stay in town because they had a lot of company obligations. He agreed. “I don’t even know the name of Carrie’s company,” Austin realized. Sami said she had her business card, and had never even looked at it. She smirked to herself, said “Oh my God,” then handed him the card. Gulp: he realized he is the one who devastated Carrie. He kicked himself for not following his instincts and talking directly to the CEO. “This is the absolute worst thing that could have happened,” he said angrily. Sami advised him to come clean. He headed over to Lucas’s apartment and told Carrie the truth.
Kate expressed her condolences to Shawn about Zack. Shawn thanked her. He then told her Mimi told him about Kate’s all-expense paid honeymoon offer. Naturally, he was suspicious of her motives. He brought up how she paid for Lucas and Sami’s wedding because he didn’t want anyone to suspect that she was really plotting against Sami the whole time. He then reminded her of when she tried to have him arrested. “I believe you’ve changed,” she said. Shawn, still wary, said he’d consider it.
On the roof, John tussled with Alex. Lois yelled that Alex was trying to kill Marlena earlier. Alex fingered Lois. Marlena revealed that Lois came in earlier and tried to kill her. Lois tried to run away; Marlena pinned her down. Lois tried to get away again. John held her in a tight grip. Alex and Marlena chastised John for believing Lois. Lois then went insane and was babbling about how she wanted to destroy Marlena, who she believes destroyed her life years earlier. She was taken away by hospital security. Kate came up to the roof to see what was going on. John said she should be booked for attempted murder. Alex and Marlena agreed not to press charges. John was flabbergasted. Marlena thanked Alex for saving her life. Again. After they left, John remarked to Kate that he was the one who pulled Marlena up. Kate noted that it looked like Marlena and Alex were getting closer.
Hope angrily asked Bo how Billie could have let Zack lie in the street without calling 911. It was an accident, Bo insisted. Roman came to the hospital. Shawn was shocked to hear that Billie hit Zack. Bo confided in Roman — as a brother, not a cop — that Billie falsely confessed to protect Chelsea. Roman was stunned. “What the hell are you asking me to do,” Roman queried. Bo, torn, said he didn’t know. He just didn’t know what to do. Bo then revealed that he signed the temporary license for Chelsea — and that Hope doesn’t know that, either. “When I tell Hope the truth, she’s going to turn her back on me and I can’t let her go through this alone,” Bo said softly. Roman warned Bo that he was making a big mistake.
Hope asked Shawn how Claire was. “The transplant was a success,” he said. Hope was happy for them, but broke down in tears, recalling happy times with her youngest son. “I want Zack back,” she cried. “I can’t believe I’m not going to be a brother anymore,” Shawn said sadly. Hope said he would always be a brother.
