Days of Our Lives Comings & Goings: Elia Cantu Out as Jada Hunter
Elia Cantu has confirmed that she wrapped filming at Days of Our Lives, where she has played Jada Hunter since July 2022.
The actress shared the news on Instagram, where she posted a farewell message alongside a short video of herself taking a theatrical bow. “Godspeed ❤️,” she captioned the clip.

Cantu reflected on her time in Salem in her heartfelt message, writing, “As I say goodbye to Days of Our Lives, I’m excited and looking forward to the next chapter. Leaving DAYS is bittersweet, but I step away full of gratitude and joy for what’s ahead.”
She went on to pay tribute to the character she has played for the last four years, whose father is the legacy character Marcus Hunter, who was played by the late Richard Biggs from 1987-92. “Jada Louise Hunter,” she wrote. “It’s been an honor. She is bold, layered, and I’ll forever cherish bringing her to life. She remains a staple in Salem and I’ll carry everything she taught me as I go. Jada, you will always be my girl. 🤍”
Lastly, Cantu paid homage to her colleagues and viewers of the show. “To the cast and crew — Thank you for your hard work and long hours,” she wrote. “What a journey it has been. To the DAYS fans — Thank you. You are incredibly supportive, caring, and dedicated. I’m so grateful for each and every one of you. There’s more to come, and I hope you’ll come along with me for what’s next.”
Cantu’s exit comes just a few months after Soap Opera Digest reported that Cantu and co-star Galen Gering (Rafe) had been moved from contract to recurring status with the Peacock soap. At the time, a DAYS rep told Digest, “We never comment on actor contract status but, rest assured, Rafe and Jada are still in Salem.”
Because DAYS tapes nearly a year in advance, Jada will likely be seen well into the spring of 2027.
Digest reached out to a show rep for comment but did not receive a response by press time.
