DAYS Exclusive: How Raven Bowens and Lindsay Arnold Became Roommates
It looks like “Challie” has happily reunited off-screen. Former Days of Our Lives co-stars Raven Bowens (Chanel) and Lindsay Arnold (ex-Allie), who have maintained a close friendship since Arnold left the show, recently became roommates.
“Lindsay had moved to New York for a while, and then I moved to a two bedroom apartment. I just needed more space,” recounts Bowens. “One day she called me and was like, ‘I’m thinking about moving back that way. What’s going on with your other room?’ And I was like, ‘Sure, move in!’ So she moved in about four months ago or so.”
Perfect Roomies
So far, the two ladies have fared well as roomies. “We have fun,” says Bowens. “We make TikToks. We have dinner parties. We do all kinds of silly things. I’d been living by myself for a few years, and I didn’t think I wanted a roommate. So initially I said, ‘You can stay for a couple months, and we’ll see how it goes.’ But we have so much fun, and I feel like the energy is so good in the apartment just in general that I was like, ‘Oh, I actually don’t mind having a roommate and sharing space with someone.’ At one point I felt like I wanted my own space so bad, and I had that and really enjoyed it. But I think if you get the right roommate [it can be great too].”
What does Bowens think make her and Arnold so compatible? “I’m into astrology,” she explains. “I’m an Aries, and she’s a Virgo. I feel like I’m not really super grounded, when it comes to things. I come up with all these ideas and am like, ‘Oh, we should do this or that.’ And then she’s like, 1, 2, 3, putting everything in order. She just makes them happen. So I feel like we’re a great team in that way, because we’re different.”
Yet, the two ladies have a lot of similarities too. “We’re both on the bubbly side. We’re more up type of people,” notes Bowens. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen Lindsay in a bad mood, which is shocking. And I’m one of those people that when I walk in the room, it’s very easy for me to take on the energy of that room. Lindsay’s energy is always so good that it makes it a lot easier for me to get things done. Her energy is very productive.”
Bowens and Arnold put that energy to good use. “We do PowerPoint. We have homework. We have all kinds of things that we’re doing in that apartment,” rattles off Bowens. “It’s really funny. Basically, we do vision boards. We have vision board bingo cards. It has 25 bingo spaces, and you have a goal on each space. Whenever you get that goal, you mark it off. When you get five of your goals in a line, you get bingo. Then you have to get yourself something special or do something special for yourself.”
The duo tracks each other’s progress at the end of every month. “We do a little presentation or just a check-in,” says Bowens. “It’s like, ‘Okay, here’s where I’m at. Here’s the things I get to cross off on my bingo board this month, and here’s my plan for next month.’ I’ve been doing vision boards for so long, but one of the things that can happen is that you make the board and then you don’t look at the board or you forget about it. You make the goal, but you’re not constantly thinking about it. So checking in every month is kind of a nice little thing. There’s goal setting and accountability. It feels like we’re in school,” she adds with a laugh.
