Vernee Watson

Best known for her roles as Vernajean Williams on Welcome Back Kotter and Viola “Vy” Smith on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Vernee Watson made her daytime debut in 1999 playing the recurring role of Birdie on Young and Restless. In 2017, the actress joined the cast of General Hospital in the role of Stella Henry and has earned two Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Guest Performer and Outstanding Supporting Actress. While appearing on the soap, she also co-starred on Bob Hearts Abishola. Watson has two children — daughter Sunde and son Josh — with her ex-husband, Van Johnson.
