Bold & Beautiful’s Darin Brooks, Y&R Alum Kelly Kruger On Split: ‘Not Fun News to Share’
The news that Bold and Beautiful star Darin Brooks (ex-Wyatt Spencer) and his wife of nearly 10 years, Young and Restless alum Kelly Kruger (ex-Mackenzie Browning), had filed for divorce rocked the soap community when it broke on March 2, less than two weeks shy of their wedding anniversary. In a shared Instagram post later that day, the pair spoke out to reiterate their commitment to a peaceful separation and to thank their friends and fans for their support.
Separate Lives
Brooks and Kruger had been a couple for 16 years, having first crossed paths in 2010 on the set of Blue Mountain State (Brooks was a series regular, Kruger a guest star). They got engaged in 2014, a year into Brooks’s decade-long stint on B&B and the same year that Kruger recurred on the soap in the short-term role of publicist Eva. In 2016, they tied the knot in his home state of Hawaii and went on to welcome two children, daughters Everleigh Jolie, 6, and Gemma Wynter, 4.
In their post, they wrote, “This is obviously not fun news to share but we have shared so many wonderful years together, and we’re truly grateful for the support, love, and joy you all have shown us along the way.”
They continued, “While we’ve made the difficult decision to part ways as a couple, we remain deeply respectful of each other and united in our commitment to our beautiful family. Our focus is on raising our girls with love, laughter, and stability, and we look forward to this next chapter as friends and co-parents. Thank you for being such a meaningful part of our journey — your kindness and support means the world to us. 💛”
Several of Brooks and Kruger’s friends in the world of daytime flooded the comment section with well wishes. “Love you both. Sending big love to you all. ❤️❤️❤️,” wrote Tracey E. Bregman, Y&R’s Lauren. Karla Mosley, who co-starred with Brooks on B&B and now plays Dani Dupree on Beyond the Gates, said, “Love y’all. What beautiful moments and humans you all have created ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.” “Love you both!” offered Jen Lilley (ex-Theresa, Days of Our Lives), adding, “Sorry to hear this. I know you all will be wonderful Coparents❤️.” Former B&B actress Denise Richards posted simply, “Love you both 🙏,” while Chrishell Stause (ex-Jordan, DAYS, et al) wrote, “Really sorry you two💔 sending love to you both.”
