Bold and Beautiful’s Darin Brooks, Young and Restless Alum Kelly Kruger Split
Former Bold and Beautiful star Darin Brooks (Wyatt Spencer) and Young and Restless alum Kelly Kruger (Mackenzie Browning) are calling it quits after 16 years together. The duo revealed in a joint statement to TV Insider that they have filed for divorce just shy of their 10th wedding anniversary but are “committed to coparenting our two children and remaining friends.”
Split Decision
Brooks and Kruger met in 2010 on the set of his series Blue Mountain State, where she portrayed Julia for two episodes. The pair hit it off, and after six months of friendship, a romantic connection sparked. Looking back on their first kiss, Brooks shared with Soap Opera Digest in 2015, “It was just the perfect moment. I remember it was raining. It was our Notebook moment.”
But Kruger was slow to give her heart fully to Brooks. “To be honest with you, I had major trust issues when I first met Darin,” she admitted to Digest in 2016. “I didn’t trust him. I was like, ‘I don’t believe this person can be this good to me. When is the other shoe going to drop?’ and I’d test and test and test.” But meeting his long-married parents marked a turning point for her. “I saw their marriage and I was like, ‘Oh, this is what you grew up witnessing and seeing. This is all you know. You only know how to have a good, healthy relationship and how to treat your partner.’ It was such a huge moment for me.”
In 2014, four years into their courtship, Kruger joined Brooks at B&B in the recurring role of Eva, Forrester International’s publicist, and when the show went to Paris for a location shoot, Brooks popped the question to Kruger with the Eiffel Tower as a backdrop. “We already feel like we’re married,” he beamed to Digest the following year, while the duo was in the throes of wedding-planning.
On March 21, 2016, Brooks and Kruger tied the knot in his native Hawaii with B&B stars including Scott Clifton (Liam) and Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy) in attendance. After marrying, “We’re more of a family,” the actor mused to Digest. “We celebrate Hanukkah and Passover on her side, and we also celebrate Easter and Christmas. She’s got her own stocking that we hang at the fireplace. The dogs have their stockings. We’re creating our own little life together.”
Brooks and Kruger welcomed their first daughter, Everleigh Jolie, on September 22, 2019. “Being pregnant and seeing the way he’s been with me has made me fall in love all over again,” Kruger gushed to Digest while expecting. They had their second child, daughter Gemma Wynter, on January 29, 2022.
Since going off-contract at B&B in 2023 after a ten-year run, Brooks has appeared in projects like The Roaring Game, while Kruger has established herself as a lifestyle content creator and beauty influencer on TikTok and Instagram.
