Bold and Beautiful Recap: Shots Fired! Who Survived Luna’s Violent Rampage?

Comments

A violent rampage came to a shocking conclusion in the July 8 episode of Bold and Beautiful as Luna’s (Lisa Yamada) attempt to put an end to Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) ended in gunfire and bloodshed. But with multiple people shot, who will survive to see another day?

The Last Stand

Entering the beach house school, Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) found Luna pointing a gun at Steffy and tried to intervene. But as she and her granddaughter struggled over the weapon, it went off and Sheila fell backwards onto the floor, shaking in pain. Steffy rushed to Sheila’s side and wanted to call an ambulance, but Luna ordered her to put the phone down, waving the gun at her for emphasis. Steffy pointed out that she’d shot her grandmother, but Luna continued to place the blame elsewhere. “Because of you!” she shouted at Steffy. “You did this! This is all happening because of you!”

Sheila begged her granddaughter to let Steffy call for help, but Luna smirked and pointed out that she wasn’t likely to die from being shot in the foot. “This is all your doing,” Luna informed Steffy. “Trying to cut us out of Finn’s life. We’re his family! We’re his blood. You think I’m being unreasonable, Steffy? I think you’re the one who needs to be reasonable… about where me and my grandma stand in Finn’s life. You’ve been so cruel to me, acting like I don’t belong, like I don’t have a place. What if I told you that you couldn’t see Ridge, huh?”

Making a face, Steffy pointed out that she’s never tried to kill her father’s wife. Crying, Luna insisted, “I want to see my father, Steffy. You have to hear me, please! My entire life, I’ve been silenced, I’ve been left in the dark, but not now. Not about this. Not about something so important. You know the kind of man that Finn is. He’s so kind and nurturing. Now imagine being denied access of a man like that because of a selfish mother. Think about the positive effect he that could have had on me in my childhood. And then think about everything that I’ve been through all these years. And think about the pain that I’m feeling now. I can’t even be with him, even though I finally know that he’s my father.”

Steffy said that she did feel bad that Luna couldn’t see her father, but reminded her of the crimes she’s committed. Tearfully, Luna admitted she knew it didn’t excuse what she’d done, but insisted she was just asking for access to her father. “Asking,” Steffy responded, eying the pistol. “With a gun in your hand.”

A Worried Husband

In his office at the hospital, Finn worried that Luna was just like Sheila, but Li assured her son that it wasn’t the bloodline that turned Luna to the dark side. “It was my sister,” the physician declared. “Her selfishness and neglect. Putting drugs and one-night stands before her own daughter’s needs. Not that I’m defending Luna. Certainly not the crimes she’s committed.”

Finn admitted he felt pity for the young woman whom he’d recently learned was his biological daughter. Li agreed that she did, too, but that was what made Luna dangerous. “Yeah, and that’s a danger that she will no doubt unleash again someday,” Finn grumbled. “And when she does, I can’t have her anywhere near my family.”

Li received a call and excused herself, and once alone, Finn tried texting Steffy again. While he waited for a response, he finally decided to listen to a voicemail Sheila had left him. “Finn. It’s your… It’s Sheila. I’ve left you several messages, and you’re not responding. I’m sure you have strict orders not to speak to me from Steffy, but it’s really important. I need to talk to you. It’s about your daughter. It’s about Luna. Call me. Please, just call me.”

As he listened to Sheila’s messages, Finn grew more and more concerned. “Finn, I’m worried. You should be, too. Luna’s anger towards Steffy… don’t ignore it. Promise me you’re gonna be careful.” Finn then tried calling Steffy, but she wasn’t picking up. Suddenly, his phone rang and he was surprised to hear from Liam (Scott Clifton), who was also concerned because Steffy wasn’t answering his calls, either. When Finn mentioned the messages Sheila left, Liam immediately assumed she was threatening Steffy, but Finn revealed it was actually about Luna. Finn told Liam that Steffy was at his dad’s beach house, and he was on his way. Liam argued that he would go instead, since it would take too long for Finn to get to Malibu. Desperate, Finn agreed and urged him, “Just get there. I’m worried about my wife.”

Shots Fired

Luna tried to argue that she didn’t want to hurt anyone, and she was just trying to get Steffy’s attention. Steffy declared she accomplished that mission when she sent the creepy fortune teller home with her son. Luna promised she would never hurt Hayes, but Steffy thought it was finally time for Luna to face reality. “I’m sure you didn’t realize you were gonna shoot your own grandmother, but here she is,” Steffy spat. “On the ground. Bleeding. And it’s not because of me, Luna. It’s because of you. You have the gun, you pulled the trigger. You’ve killed people. You tried to kill me. And now you shot Sheila, your grandmother. All this talk about what your mother did to you — it doesn’t excuse the crimes that you committed. And yes, I do feel bad for you. I do. That you didn’t grow up with a father. No child should be denied a parent. And you know what? Maybe if you had Finn in your life, maybe, just maybe, you might’ve turned out differently.”

Wiping away tears, Luna thought she finally understood, but Steffy angrily declared that she would never have access to Finn because she was going to prison for a very long time. Will wore a wire to record her threatening with intent, and she went through with it. Smiling as she realized that she’d reached the end of the road, Luna raised the gun and aimed at Steffy. At that moment, Liam burst into the room and lunged at Luna, grabbing for the gun. It went off again, and Liam looked down before staggering back into the doorway, blood streaming from the gunshot wound in his chest.

Lives Hang in the Balance

As Steffy raced to Liam’s side, Luna again blamed others. “No!” she cried. “I didn’t mean to! Steffy, this is all your fault!” With Luna’s attention focused on Steffy, Sheila took advantage of the distraction to reach up and pull a bin of art supplies onto the floor next to her. As Luna turned to the noise, Liam leapt to his feet and grabbed the gun from her hands, turning it on her. “Oh, so you’re gonna be the one to stop me?” Luna chuckled dismissively, raising her hands. “Look at you… you’re barely even standing. You’re a coward, Liam. Go on, pull the trigger. I don’t think you have the guts.”

Shaking his head, Liam declared, “I’m a dead man anyway.” As he pulled the trigger, Luna reached for the gun but recoiled, falling to the floor and losing consciousness as she bled from her side. With the last of his energy used up, Liam collapsed in Steffy’s arms as Finn arrived and took in the scene. His first instinct was to think Sheila was responsible, but Steffy pointed to Luna and begged her husband to save Liam. Sheila assured Finn she was fine and urged her son to help Liam.

As Finn raced into action, Steffy phoned for an ambulance, explaining the life-or-death situation. “Steffy,” Liam gasped. “You’re safe.” And with those words, his eyes rolled back into his head, and he went silent. The screen went white before fading to black. Who will survive?
