Close to 100,000 readers sent in ballots for the 11th Annual Soap Opera Digest Awards, which were held on February 17 at the Beverly Hills Hilton in Los Angeles and aired live on NBC.


John Larroquette served as host along with Victoria Rowell (Drucilla, YOUNG AND RESTLESS), Louise Sorel (Vivian, DAYS OF OUR LIVES) and Kelly Ripa (Hayley, ALL MY CHILDREN).
Eight out of 10 shows won at least one award, including many first-time winners like Tom Eplin (Jake, ANOTHER WORLD), Rena Sofer (Lois, GENERAL HOSPITAL), Roger Howarth (Todd, ONE LIFE TO LIVE) and Keith Hamilton Cobb (Noah, AMC).
