Born in Taft, Calif., in 1928, Jeanne Cooper attended College of the Pacific before graduating from Pasadena Playhouse School. Cooper’s career included television guest spots on THE TWILIGHT ZONE, PERRY MASON, L.A. LAW, MAVERICK, TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL, THE NANNY and BEN CASEY (for which she received a prime-time Emmy nomination). She also appeared in the films The Man From Alamo, The Boston Strnagler and Tony Rome among others. Cooper had three children with husband Harry Bernsen before their 1977 divorce.
Since 1973, Cooper has called Y&R home. She was a Daytime Emmy nominee for Lead Actress in 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991 and 1999. In 2004, Cooper received a Daytime Emmy for Lifetime Achievement. Her official Web site is www.jeannecooper.com.
