The Snyder Farm is quite a healing place: Ameera hasn’t slept so well in a
very long time. Too bad her visa expires soon and she’ll be shipped back to
Iraq, where — as we learned on her PSA-like stroll through Oakdale with
Noah, who had ditched school, to Luke’s chagrin — girls don’t ride in cars
with boys and must walk a few paces behind them, censorship under Saddam was
horrendous and everyone lived in fear of suicide bombers. Also: Luke and
Noah’s romance would have gone over even worse in Baghdad than, say,
Cincinnati. One thing she simply could not believe was that Colonel Mayer,
who she knows to be a kind, generous, protective man, would be so cruel as
to reject his son. Ameera couldn’t understand why Noah wouldn’t want to hear
good things about his father, but Noah revealed that Winston tried to kill
Luke, and he's in jail for murdering Cheri. Ameera was completely shocked;
Noah admitted that he’s jealous that she got to see such a gentle side to
his father. They locked eyes as Luke — clearly used to interpreting normally
innocuous moments as intimate — spied them and looked nervous. He cutely
acted a bit jealous, but they all went to Al’s together.
Alison was on a breakfast date with Matt at Al’s when Aaron dropped by.
Aaron awesomely gave Matt the third degree about how he knows Casey and
where he’s from until Ali put a stop to it. When Matt stepped away, Alison
told Aaron that her love life is none of his business. They were in of their
stubborn impasses when Matt returned; Aaron then reported that he’d only
stopped by because Julie had a relapse so he’s going back to Seattle "for a
while." Alison, feeling instantly guilty, jumped to wish him and his mother
well. Once Aaron was gone, Matt spotted Gray and did a double take, but
claimed not to know him when Ali asked. Later, Alison decided to reveal her
sketchy past before they went any further, but Matt kind of sweetly told her
"we’ve all done stuff we’re not proud of ... I don’t judge anybody." He then
confessed to shoplifting comics and candy as a kid. He gave her a kiss on
the cheek when they parted, but his smile disappeared as he watched her
leave.
Henry brought Vienna breakfast in bed, along with an ultimatum: return the
diamond necklace and reject Gray’s supposedly no-strings-attached attempt to
give back Al’s or else they’re through. Vienna did just that when she met
Gray at Al’s. He tried tempting her with a luxurious dinner, but she
declared her love for Henry and declined. She did agree to a cup of coffee,
though. Suddenly, Al’s was shaken by a loud boom. Gray secretly pulled a gun
as a precaution; Ameera ducked under the table. Vienna reported that the
furnace backfired, but Ameera was still completely freaked out. The boys
took her home and agreed that they have to do whatever it takes to keep her
from being sent back to Iraq. Meanwhile, Gray used the interruption to talk
Vienna into agreeing to have lunch with him.
Jack reported to Carly that he had Kit brought in to the station on trumped
up charges; unfortunately that’s what her lawyer pointed out to a
beleaguered Dallas, who was forced to let her go.
A hung over Brad was bragging about his wild night on the town with Bonnie
when Katie burst into tears — not because she’s jealous, but because she
feels guilty about screwing things up for Parker. They agreed to work
together to help Parker and Brad recruited Henry (who had arrived for advice
about Vienna.) Jack angrily rejected Brad’s attempt to tell him about the
surely "harebrained" scheme, while Katie was similarly shut down by Carly
(who irrationally blames her entirely for the fact that they didn’t catch
Kit). But the plan worked: a bespectacled Henry fooled Kit into thinking
that he wanted to buy Metro, thus keeping her in town. Katie urged Henry to
go make up with Vienna, who made it pretty easy by reporting that she had
done everything regarding Gray that he had instructed her to do. They fell
into bed. Meanwhile, Katie reported to Jack and Carly, who felt bad for
being so mean to Katie and Brad.

Paul, still trussed up in the hospital, complained to Margo about the fact
that no one seems interested in chasing down Craig for causing the
explosion. Margo pointed out that the Oakdale PD is working on it, but that
she's currently busy dealing with a young boy who's about to be tried as an
adult for murder, so she can't quite focus on his love triangle. Those
stories intersected when Parker came into the Snyder kitchen to see Meg
reading about Paul's accident in the paper. She agreed to drive him to visit
his old friend in the hospital. Paul was thrilled to see Meg and asked her
to stick around during their visit. Paul then basically spoke to her through
Parker, claiming that "it doesn't matter" who tried to kill him, because
it's his fault. He also suggested that Parker's lucky he's a kid with
parents who love him, so he shouldn't worry too much about that murder
charge. "Carly and Jack are going to fight to protect you because you're
theirs, and no parent should ever lose a child," he said, staring pointedly
at Meg, who privately told him that she appreciated his subtextual messages,
but it's still "too late for us."
At the hospital, Chris comforted Sofie, but was called away by an emergency.
That's when Barbara stepped up to apologize for her role in the whole baby
purchase thing, but gently noted that the baby really is better off.
Suddenly, a nurse interrupted to tell Babs that her radiation has been
rescheduled. Sofie instantly guessed that she has cancer; Barbara asked her
not to tell Will and Gwen. Sofie then stopped by her new pal Paul's room and
burst into tears. She ended up snuggling on his chest (!) as Chris wondered
where she went.
Matt ran into Gray at the Lakeview and mentioned spotting him at Al's
yesterday with Vienna. "I'm calling the shots here," hissed Gray, warning
Matt to keep his attitude to himself. Vienna then arrived for their lunch
date; a sleazily flirtatious Gray wooed her like crazy. Vienna got quite
tipsy — even seeming tempted by his offer to give her all the luxuries she's
missing — and Gray was happy to take advantage of her in her state. Henry
walked in on them kissing.
Will and Gwen cooed over Hallie before heading to court with Bonnie. Chris
supported Sofie, and Barbara skipped out on secret radiation treatment to be
there for the judge's decision: the baby should stay with the Munsons. In
response, a tearful Sofie made a big speech apologizing to Will and Gwen and
begging them to let her daughter know that she's her mother. "Even if I
can't raise her, she's the only family I've got," she said, driving home
Gwen's guilt. Will suggested they celebrate and invited Alison, who was
waiting outside. She brought along Casey and Matt, who totally ingratiated
himself in their little circle and even got to hold the baby. After a
freaked Casey scolded him for messing up his life, Matt called his bluff,
offering to leave town. Casey backed down and assured him that they're fine.
Matt then made eye contact with Gray, who left with a giggling Vienna.
"Wealthy benefactor is the role I was born to play," said Henry when Carly
and Jack thanked him for helping keep Kit in town. They had another, teensy
tiny little favor to ask: wear a wire and get Kit to confess to killing Sam.
Though initially very resistant, Henry couldn't resist Carly's pleas. With
Jack and Carly listening in the surveillance van, Henry did his best, but
Kit just wanted to gossip about what a bitch Carly is. He still couldn't get
a confession, but did manage to get her to say "I wouldn't have done what I
did if it weren't for her," which Jack hoped would be enough. Of course
that's not enough, as an annoyed Margo pointed out, also scolding him for
his involvement in the investigation. "In that case, I quit," he said,
slamming down his badge as a shocked Carly cringed, then chased after him.
She questioned his decision, but they both agreed they'd do whatever it
takes to save Parker. He assured her that they'd figure out a way to help
their son, then pulled her into a hug.

Luke suggested that his grandma "always has a ton of laywers on retainer" to help Ameera, but reminded Noah that he doesn't even know this girl. She heard and agreed, telling them that she'll be fine on her own (although her reaction to her tour of Oakdale yesterday would suggest otherwise). Luke was urging her to stay when Noah got a call from the prison: Winston wants to see him. Noah didn't want to go, but Ameera argued that she wants to go and she could even help change the Colonel's mind about his son. Luke insisted
on joining them, so they all piled into Luke's truck, where Ameera passed
the time by asking when the boys knew they were gay. Suddenly, they swerved to miss something on the road, breaking the front axle. Realizing they were in the middle of nowhere with no cell phone signals, Luke and Noah broke it to Ameera that she might have to be bunking with two (!) men tonight. Luke continued to seem irrationally nervous about Noah's growing friendship with Ameera.
Henry walked up on Vienna making out with Gray and stormed off as V
protested. Henry reported to Katie and Brad, then stayed at WOAK and binged
on junk food while his friends dispersed to clear up the misunderstanding. A still-tipsy Vienna admitted to Katie that she's tempted by Gray's wealth, even though she still loves Henry. Katie couldn't believe that Vienna was willing to give up on Henry and pass up on true love (though Vienna pointed out she's doing the same with Brad). "It's not easy loving Henry. I wanted to get married; Henry didn't. I loved owning the diner; Henry didn't. I want children; Henry might never," sobbed a conflicted Vienna. "Maybe a happy ending with Henry is not meant to be." Meanwhile, Brad sidled up to Gray a the Lakeview bar and suggested they go into business together. Gray turned him down, but took Brad's card, then remember that he's friends with his poker buddy. "Tell Henry, better luck next time," he said smugly, earning a disgusted sneer Brad, who reported back to Vienna and Katie that Gray is pretty sleazy. Later, Katie and Brad encouraged Henry to return to Vienna, who was able to seduce her man into having spirited makeup sex, as Gray left her a message.
Sofie visited Paul and read Treasure Island to him as he gazed at her like
she was Meg or something. After convincing Gwen to stop feeling guilty about Sofie, they went to the hospital to introduce a suddenly enormous Hallie to Paul. Will was understandably annoyed to find Sofie there (asking the
excellent question of whether she was "some kind of sick replacement" for
Meg), and after an awkward moment in which Gwen let the biological mother hold her baby over Will's objections, Sofie stepped out and ran into Chris. Will scolded his brother for making friends with their enemy, but Paul argued that he sympathizes with Sofie, because she just wants to be with her child. After Will let that argument lie, they discussed Barbara's odd behavior, but Paul assured him that their mother can take care of herself. They left after refusing a baby gift from Sofie. "Are you kidding?" asked a fed-up Will, handing it back to her. After radiation treatment, Barbara
stopped by to visit Paul and was also alarmed to hear about his new pal
Sofie. Paul later urged Sofie to let him know if Babs is mean to her.
After assuring Bob that he plans on staying in town and promising not to let him down, Chris took a listless Sofie to lunch while Will argued to Gwen that they have to set some limits with Hallie's biological mom. After
leaving Paul, Barbara visited the young Munsons. Gwen noted that she seems a little tired.

As Lily and Holden belatedly found their son's note and began to worry, Luke
woke up from a long night in the car and stroked Noah's sleeping face while
Ameera looked uncomfortable. She then pretended to sleep when Noah woke up
and Luke kissed him all over his face (except on his lips). Suddenly, a car
came by, but when they tried to flag it down, the driver played some silly
stop-and-go tricks, then almost ran Noah down after he yelled "Jerks." A
couple of frat-looking boys (and their beer cans) tumbled out of the car,
and they immediately noted Ameera's headscarf; she confirmed that she's from
Iraq. "I wonder how many of her relatives have killed Americans," sneered
one, before the other offered to give Ameera — and only Ameera — a ride.
Noah wasn't about to let that happen and things quickly got physical. When
one of the guys whacked Noah with a crow bar, Luke rushed to his side and
the frat boys started in with gay slurs, then attacked Luke and tried to
grab Ameera. Luke snatched her out of the car, as Lily and Holden arrived;
father and son subdued the other kids as Ameera collapsed in horror. They
took Noah to the hospital where Susan reported that he'll be okay and added
that "Luke and Noah are good kids. These things shouldn't happen." Lily
noted to Holden that she frets about the boys every time they leave the
house and she's also now added Ameera to her list of people to worry about.
Lily comforted Ameera while Luke sat by Noah's bedside. Later, when Ameera
went in to see Noah, the nurse asked if he was her boyfriend. "No. He is my
brother," she said, presumably meaning that in a metaphorical way, but
considering her mom's relationship with Winston, you never know. Noah, of
course, was delighted to have any sort of "family."
Katie and Brad literally listened at the door to hear whether Vienna and
Henry had made up. Indeed they had made up so much they were out of breath,
but Henry was still ready for another round. That's when Kit called,
demanding her money. He quickly dressed and ran off with a shady explanation
to Vienna about he has to deliver $250,000 to someone at Metro. As soon as
he was gone, Vienna got a delivery from Gray: a huge pallet of designer
shoes from Fashions, which she told him on the phone she was going to
return. Sure enough, he turned up at the store later: Vienna had kept one
pair and got all gussied up to ask him for a favor: $250,000 in cash. He
came through and delivered it — no strings attached.
Meanwhile, Jack went to WOAK to ask Brad for the cash to con Kit; he didn't
have the money, but Katie did. Jack didn't want to take her cash, but Katie
insisted on being allowed to help Parker. Jack — and a reluctant Carly —
finally agreed, but swore she'd get back every cent. When Henry bragged
grossly about his makeup sex with Vienna, Brad got an idea: he should seduce
Kit to get her to confess. She fell for the scam immediately and Kit was
thisclose to spilling all. "Tell me all of your secrets," breathed Henry
seductively. "Kiss me first," she said. He obliged just as Vienna (having
avoided being spotted by Carly and Jack, who were in the surveillance van
outside) interrupted to deliver the cash, which she assumed was for a
gambling debt. She tearfully demanded an explanation, which Henry couldn't
give. She left, and so did Kit, not wanting to get involved with another
player. Oh, and she took Katie's money with her.
As Katie and Brad waited for word, he noted how she's clearly not over Jack.
Henry rushed in, frantically searching for Vienna, who had climbed into
Gray's limo and started making out with him. Katie went after Vienna while
Henry fretted to Brad that the only place V could get that kind of cash she
had was from Gray. In the limo, Vienna flashed back to her first time with
Henry (also in a backseat), but had sex with Gray anyway. After, she
couldn't hide her guilt.
Brad and Carly looked on as Katie assured Jack that she doesn't care about
her lost money, only Parker, and they embraced. Later, Brad found Katie
crying alone about Parker and comforted her with a little kiss, which led to
many more bigger kisses. Parker came home to his parents and reported that
he aced his test and he's even trying out for baseball because he's decided
to be optimistic about his future. This concerned Jack, who doesn't want to
get their son's hopes up. He suggested that they prepare Parker for the
worst. Carly had a better idea: she wants to bait Kit by claiming that she
has proof that she killed Sam.

Vienna came home and told the truth to Henry. "I not only slept with Gray, we made love. I'm in love with Gray Gerard," she said nonsensically. "After you cheated on me, Henry, why shouldn't I?" A
devastated Henry didn't correct her and sent her to move into the penthouse with Gray and dumped her clothes outside. With Gray, a tearful Vienna made her misery clear. "It's funny, I used to like being taken care of, but now I find joy in making my own way. I guess Henry just changed me," she sobbed. "I'm going to change you back," cooed Gray, promising to spoil her. Vienna was considering apologizing to Henry when she saw her clothes strewn outside the door.
Matt got caught snooping around the Hughes family desk by a returning Margo, who accepted his excuse and again urged him to persuade Casey to go back to college. An uneasy Casey came in on their conversation, but Matt told him the truth about it at the Lakeview. Soon after Casey reiterated that he's perfectly happy working as a bartender, Matt made eye contact with Gray, then Casey cut his finger. Leaving the bar completely untended (and with an apologetic look to Gray), Matt rushed Casey to the hospital, where Alison got him help. Matt and Ali then decided to spend their break together, but when he spotted Gray in Old Town, he ushered Alison into the bookstore, then snuck out to meet with his boss, who asked how the "research" was going on the "Hughes front" and ordered him to deliver a message to Brad. Alison spotted them together (Matt claimed Gray is a customer) and later mentioned
to Casey that his buddy seems to be hiding something. "All I've got to say
is when I needed help, Matt was there," responded Casey. "I've got nothing bad to say about him."
Jack warned Carly that her plan to trap Kit is too dangerous, but she had
faith that he can protect her. When Jack finally agreed that it was the only
way, Carly summoned Kit to Luther's Corner Church, where she weirdly
threatened Kit that she knows what she did and she can prove it. Kit not
only denied all, but accused her of bluffing. Even Carly's last-ditch
taunting about Sam loving her more didn't work and Kit ran off. Jack
comforted Carly, encouraging her not to lose faith. But things go worse when
Margo called him in and excoriated him for using a cop friend to tail Kit.
Meanwhile, Katie ran in to Parker at Java and assured him that he'll be
fine. The kid admitted that he's thinking of pleading guilty to just get
things over with, but Katie urged him to "trust the system. Trust your
parents." She made him promise he wouldn't, so he did.
Brad returned to WOAK and left a somewhat pathetic message for Katie before Matt knocked him out, noting that Gray's message has been delivered. Meanwhile, Katie stopped by Milltown to pick up a book for Parker and also got clocked in the head.
