What beauty advice did your mom give you?

“My mom always said beauty was more than what’s on the outside. It’s in your heart. Other than that, it was take care of yourself, be healthy and be presentable because you never know who you’re going to meet and you always want to be your best self from the inside out.”

Do you prefer being glammed up or fresh-faced?

“A little of both. I grew up dancing so I’m used to not wearing makeup a lot. I feel at home when I’m at the gym or dance class, so that’s when I most enjoy the fresh-faced look. But, there is something I enjoy about getting all dolled up and glammed out, when your face becomes a canvas and you’re like, ‘Let’s see what I can do today.’ ”

What are your makeup bag must-haves?

“For skin care, it’s Rodan + Fields. I have dry skin so I always have lotion because I like that dewy complexion. As far as my base, I use MAKE UP FOR EVER Ultra HD Foundation, which I fell in love with once I started the show. I like Urban Decay eye shadow. I’m obsessed with the Neutrogena Revitalizing Lip Balm, which is tinted, and ChapStick Total Hydration Moisture + Tint. My best friend is a makeup artist and she laughs because I just shove makeup in my purse and she’s like, ‘Girl, get a makeup bag,’ and I’m like, ‘My purse is fine.’ ”

What’s your worst beauty blunder?

“I used to take white eyeliner and put it on my eyelids as eye shadow for a majority of my middle-school years. I look back and I’m just mortified. Somebody should have taken that away from me [laughs].”
