New DAYS Head Writers
By SOD • Posted: May 19, 2011Ken Corday, executive producer of DAYS OF OUR LIVES, announced today that PASSIONS' writers Marlene McPherson and Darrell Ray Thomas have been named the show's head writing team, replacing current scribe Dena Higley. "McPherson and Thomas will bring DAYS OF OUR LIVES back to its core values by telling exciting stories with a fresh and contemporary approach," said Corday in a statement.

Passions was my very first favorite Soap Opera since the first episode in 1999. I hope that they add some Harmony style to Days, and also bring Lindslay Hartley(Cara on AMC, Adrinna on Days, Theresa on Passions) back if AMC does get cancelled.
Please write out the Taylor/EJ story. I cannot believe they wanted Will to be depicted as Gay. Bring back the family stories. Let the character of Nichole find some happiness.
DOOL is the only daytime TV that I watch and have watched for over 40 years. I watch half-heartedly now. Good luck to the new writers.
Now that we have new writers, it is rumored that the upcoming storyline for Will to be gay is being canned. So many people hope this is true, we don't want Will to be a gay person Hope the head writers also see all the comments about Tamara Braun playing the part of Taylor. More people don't like her in this part, Natalia was the better person for the part. The writers didn't give Natalia a chance to grow into her new role and they canned her. People were starting to like Natalia in her role. The insiders at Days may like Tamara, but the majority of viewers don't. If Days wants to keep its viewers, then maybe they should take a hard look at what the viewers are wanting. After all, no viewers, no show, it can be taken off the air just like the others.
As a DOOL fan for over 40 years, I was actually thinking about stopping watching the show. The stories have been terrible.
If there is any silver lining to the cancellations of AMC and OLTL, it's that remaining shows are waking up and smelling the rotten writing and doing something about it.
I hear the angels sing because she is gone!! I have been a DOOL fan for over 25 years and the story lines DH brought were the worst, and for the first time I actually stopped watching. She has ruined core familys like the Brady's and Horton's, taken the adventure from super couples like Bo and Hope and added characters (The entire Hernandez family) who are not needed and have the sloppiest back story! I hope Marlene remembers the familys and bring it back to what the fans want!!
I couldn't have said it better myself. I would love to see the old couples get more story lines. However I do like Sami & Rafe together.

I cannot stand Tamara Braun as Taylor. Hopefully now the writers will just write that character out of the show. Tamara seems to lack the ability to play a classy woman. There's nothing wrong with that, but there's everything wrong with that when the character should be classy, professional, educated and caring.
