Meet PASSIONS’s New Miguel, Blair Redford

Comments

PASSIONS fans will get an early Christmas gift when hunk Blair Redford (ex-Scot, Y&R) airs as Miguel on December 24. Until Santa delivers, read all about what Harmony’s newest hottie has been up to.

Soap Opera Digest: What have you been doing since leaving Y&R?

Blair Redford: I’ve been doing some prime-time. I did an episode of CANE, and a couple of episodes of OCTOBER ROAD. I also filmed a horror movie called Dance of the Dead, which was really fun. My character is in a rock band, so I learned how to play the guitar.

Digest: Do you keep in touch with anyone from Y&R? Have you talked to Tracey Bregman [Lauren] lately?

Redford: No, I haven’t talked to her in a long time. She is so busy with the show, and because of the schedules of soaps, I feel like you’re friends with who you work with at the time.

Digest: How did PASSIONS come about?

Redford: My agent called and sent me out for it. I auditioned and screen-tested.

Digest: Who did you screen-test with?

Redford: Heidi [Mueller, Kay].

Digest: And I heard you were immediately put in a love scene with her.

Redford: Yeah. I have had a majority of my scenes with Heidi so far. She’s great to work with. She’s so funny, too. In between scenes, she keeps me entertained.

Digest: Did someone show you the ropes on your first day?

Redford: [Casting Director] Jackie Briskey took me around the day before I started. I was there to get a haircut.

Digest: Was it neat to see your name on a parking spot?

Redford: Yes! I expected it to just be on a laminated piece of paper, but it’s a metal plate with my name. It was very cool.

Digest: Obviously, you’re involved in the supernatural storyline.

Redford: Yeah, it’s pretty cool! I’m excited to see what I’ll get to do, and to work with special effects.

Digest: How do you feel about being a recast?

Redford: Well, in soaps, it happens so often, I don’t think it’s that big of a deal.

Digest: Have you watched any of Adrian‘s [Bellani, ex-Miguel] scenes?

Redford: I watched some to see what the story was and everyone else’s storylines so that I know what’s going on.

Digest: Have you prepared to be shirtless often?

Redford: I work out a lot anyway, but once the script kept saying the scene called for me to be shirtless, I figured I’d better do something about it [laughs].

Digest: Since we last spoke to you, has anything changed in your personal life, like are you engaged, married, have kids?

Redford(laughing): No! No kids, no marriage. I’m single.

Digest: That’s the way we like it.
