DAYS Vet Surprised By Nom
Peggy McCay (Caroline, DAYS) got two early morning phone calls on Wednesday informing her that she received a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress. "The first was from Bruce Evans [senior vice president, NBC Entertainment] and the other was from Greg Meng [co-executive producer]. I didn't know the nominations were announced, so it was a nice surprise." McCay also received a call from Susan Flannery (ex-Stephanie, BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL), who is nominated in the same category. "I'm a great admirer of Susan," notes McCay. "She called to congratulate me. I was honored. I think she's a tremendous actress. I respect her very much. I also heard from friends. So it was all very nice."
